Darth Rifter and Jedi Keldor...Darn it I forgot.

« on: January 09, 2011, 06:14:24 AM »

i made my own lightsaber hilt. I think there is enough room for a battery pack and a way to put in a led, but i don't know. I don't know have the know how or ways to do it. If i put up picks would be able to tell me if you would be sable too,if i mailed it to you, install the light and switches and stuff?

Now i think there is room for a battery pack because of the top  without the emitter down, has about three inches till it stops and where the emitter is, is about two inches of clearance. Also if you cut out those three  pieces on the top of the emitter and remove the little ring, you can fit a blade in. tell me how i did and if it can work

Hey mate... the hilt is looking good! I'm impressed.

One of the other blokes is currently building a custom PVC saber. I think his plan is to use the LED and blade from his UltraSaber. Here is some advice i gave to him... http://www.saberforum.com/index.php?topic=215.0

If this still doesn't help.. hit me up and we'll go into some more detail.

Unfortunately I live in Australia and your postage bill to send it down here would be pretty hectic Tongue but i'm sure someone else on this Forum may be closer to you and may also have the know-how.... Good luck!!

Looks like a bigyellowbox design. Did you perhaps find your way around this saber there? I remember using their grip template for my first saber.

Some of those big yellow box sabers have good ideas for people customising their own saber even!

yay this is a Big yellow box designed. Listen could someone please help me? I really want this to be a functioning lightsaber with a simple red led, the luxeon, i believe are the bright ones. I personally don't have the time, or know how to do this and i am sure that someone here does, please can someone help. LEDS can't be that much can they? I just really want to see this little baby of mine finally be finished and have a working  LED and blade. That is all i ask.

Yea, I really think this may be a lost cause. You see the grip section is just some plastic wire holder and is attached to a 1 1/4 inch dowel rod with six wood screws. Now like I said there is only 2 15/16 inch from the top of the saber with no emitter to the top of the solid dowel. only enough for a battery pack and I doubt enough for a switch. The emitter chunk is 2 3/4 inches. I don't think you can add a Led in the bottom of the emitter. I just don't think I can do this. Plus  can't have the battery in the pommel because in order to get it on, which it is just a gas cap, I had to use industrial strength super glue, Liquid Nails. So i can't remove the pommel to remove the grip to transfer it over to a 1 1/4 inch hollow pvc pipe and put it back in. Then I would Put some pvc pipe with threads sticking out the bottom so I can thread on the pommel. If I could do this, it would make a lot of room available and have a removable pommel.
