After managing to see a few new pics, I've noticing a new style pommel coming with some of these Premium Grab Bags. This kinda got me thinking a little. Would anyone else be interested if US offered 2 classes of Grab Bag sabers? One standard, the other (for a slight increase in price) being Premium?
Let me know your thoughts.

Ahhhh, the Dark Side is definately on point this day! Wonderful idea, Darth! Don't know "why" US hasn't attempted it already. Maybe, just maybe....Emory is feeling out the response to the recent deluge of Frankensabers and might offer a "build your own saber" from a list of parts. Sounds like what one of the "other guys" do.  Hell, if US offered a pick and build option, they'll easily get another $1K outta me! |

My guess is they don't offer premium grab bags all the time because they don't have enough premium hilts that meet the "grab bag" qualities, i.e. minor scuffs scratches etc. It wouldn't make sense to offer them as grab bags if they can sell them as standard hilts. However, a pick and build option would be a very cool route to take.

Hey, I'll happily sacrifice the PGB sabers for GD's Frankensaber option. That would be the absolute best. I think the reason why PGBs are rare is beacuse they are handled with way more care as to not "generate" GB sabers. I have received several free GBs in the last year, and honestly, even my picky @$$ couldn't figure out what was defective one them. It makes me think that GBs are typically of the V series because they are the least expensive to produce. So even if they have no defects, they can come out of good stock and US won't be out enough $$ to worry about. |

I'm pretty sure this is not the first time this request has been made. Personally I have always loved to few moments when a character has used their Saber with one hand, like a fencer. I've always thought the style of a fencer was perfect for lightsabers because a calm guarding/parry/lunge or slash style would be perfect for a Jedi. I've always thought a saber with a fencer's foil/rapier guard would be cool looking. especially in the futuristic star wars style. Maybe with a row of leds along the guard portion that runs along where the hand grips the hilt as a melee energy brass knuckles for a "sith" dirty fighting move. It would be interesting to see something like this in a real saber. Thought I'd share my thoughts of this design possibility and hope that your designers read and are inspired.

I can name a few sabers that would be good for fencing style. Aeon/Dominix of either version with a 32 inch blade maybe. But how about something totally new and fresh and original? Something more Star Wars themed again? Just an idea =] Maybe a mix of clan themed sabers or something?

I like your enthusiasm, and out-of-the-box thinking. In short, maybe. Your best bet is to email Emory and ask him. Sometimes you can buy parts separately and sometimes you cant. |

Yes, best bet is to email Emory. I've been able to buy emitters from US that aren't "on the website for sale". Emory will tell you what to do to order it. But I believe the Scorpion emitter is one of those rare ones that isn't sold separately, even if you email Emory. But it never hurts to ask!

As was mentioned by someone before, while the sabers on US are beautiful, a vast majority of them do seem to be far more Sith-minded (Scorpion, Malice, Raven, etc.) I would love to see some new designs lean towards light side or neutral as well. Although the Scorpion without the claw makes for an awesome renegade Jedi saber...
I would love to see a re-stock of the Overlord and Consular as well.

Both will come back just as the Bane has recently. I too would love to see more Jedi side design sabers though and maybe some shorter in length rather than large length hilts like the Scorpion or Reaper
