Ok so i just ordered a Pair of Dark Shocks to make a staff, And after reading this part of the forum my mind is already blazing with customization idea's so i have to ask if anyone has suggestions on way's to make the saber more sithish? Also im wondering if i would need to add a grip? I am very Partial too dragons so once Ultra Takes customs again i am thinking of seeing if i can have a Dragon saber made Wink

-Painting the Activation Switch with Gold Leaf
-Lineing a Dark Red Paint Between the Silver on the Emitter
-Finding some way to attach a Single or pair of claws to each side.......Which will be red Outlined to contrast black\Silver.
-Possibly switch the Emitter over to a War Glaive Emitter with Claws, but it might be to long for me...

It kind of depends on what kind of Sith look you're going for.
In the movies there are 2 different kinds of Sith.  Dooku and Sideous are very stylish and have elegant, clean, beautiful sabers.  Maul and Vader seem focused on intimidation and, while their appearance is monstrous, their sabers look more like tools than anything else.
Then there's the Sith from the comics that look like members of GWAR.  And the ancient Sith with more organic looking hilts.

I've seen a lot of people with dirty, beat up Sith sabers.  I'm guilty of it as well.  Problem is, there's not much of a precedent for that.

Anyway, you can try to add one of the Claws to the emitters.  It would give it a sort of Dooku look.  Or add a set of claws and give it a Exar Kun look.  I'm not sure how that would work with that blade holder, though.  Or you can paint or engrave some ancient sith text.  Here's a translator for that:

You can try to paint some of the silver trim blood red.  You could always try to fit in a Sith sunburst design somewhere.

Might be cool to take that blood red thing a step further and paint it to look like there is literally blood trickling down around the emitter. That would look especially cool with Red or Violet blades! Perhaps also adding a little wear and faux battle damage to them, or some type of souveniers from your defeated. IE a broken ring, perhaps tattered cloth tied on someplace (torn from the tunic of a fallen Jedi nemesis?), braided wookie pelt to take one from Fett's book... there's plenty of things that you could do like that, and many of them would still leave the hilt open and functional grip-wise in a duel. I was thinking of doing the following

-Painting the Activation Switch with Gold Leaf
-Lineing a Dark Red Paint Between the Silver on the Emitter
-Finding some way to attach a Single or pair of claws to each side.......Which will be red Outlined to contrast black\Silver.

I agree Sith sabers should look great as we stab a Jedi while Force Choking him!

I prefer the Sith Sorcery approach, when I'm feeling dark side.  Bring their worst fears to life, destroy their mind with horrors, conjure tendrils of pure dark energy, that sort of thing.

More fun to Stab them from behind then light up a staff and start hacking jedi to bitz for Khem Val to eat.

You know, people like you guys are why Ysalamiri are in such hi demand these days... XD

Personally, I'll jump in with my favorite Sith killing approach. Stab, then cut from within. Because even if you only hit them with the first or last part of the motion, you still do plenty of damage.

And yeah, you guys seem to be right about that clean sabers thing. Heck, I think the only real 'dirty' saber seen besides starkillers is Obi's Ep IV blade. All the movie hilts were pretty clean.

Personally I prefer to stab them with my sharpened emitter and THEN turn my lightsaber ending their life while I whisper how pathetic they are...
