What happened to the pointy tipped end for the blades?
I remember receiving the newsletter about them but don't remember them ever being an option on the site?

We offered them as a promotion for free once.  We had a lot of complaints about breakage so we never made it a long term thing.  We can offer it as an upgrade.  We will try to have that added to the site here soon, we just have to get enough tips in stock.

What the, I posted a link to some earlier? I'd post it again but since it was from another site maybe it was removed by a moderator? If so not linking it again.

This is a bit of a silly question. Other than cosmetics, is there any advantage to a pointed tip?

I always shied away from them personally. One or two members of my FanForce got them. They're not sharp per se, but I'd imagine if someone were accidentally stabbed, the pointy tip would hurt more than the rounded tip. Plus, I was already used to the rounded tip, as that was the standard in other sabers, and the pointed tip was only in ROTS and TCW anyway.

I never really liked the pointy tip. I have a heavy grade blade with one, and it looks all right, I think I am just used to the round tip instead. Think it looks a little better in my own opinion. As for the point tip hurting, well, that is with any saber I think. I think there have been a few cuts due to a few missed blocks during some duels I have done, so as always, you just need to really becareful in this sort of hobby, especially when people are trying to swing at each other the way that they do. So safety wise, they could be more of a "danger", but who ever is dueling or choreographing a fight should keep that in mind anyway.

What is the difference between a pointed and rounded tip? I think the pointed ones look kind of odd lol

Well, take a look at the regular US blades. They have that nice looking arc, right? Well, the pointed tip is just that. Its pointed. It is a little longer and looks more like a bullet. Suppose to make the saber look more like the newer ones, you know, with the pointed end. It is cool and all and I think it was a neat idea from US, I just prefer the round tip personally.

I thought about buying some from TCSS but in doing some research I found that they look just plain goofy, simply because they do not light up with the rest of the blade, it LOOKS detached because it uses the same mirror-style as the round tip, it's just the round tip is much less noticeable.

Quick qestion though, what would be the best way of getting the tip off of a HG blade? Long story short we lost my little brother's UEHG tip in the back yard and have given up looking in the past 6 days. I have a HG that I had to 'modify' anyways and ended up just replacing it altogether, so I figure I'd just use that and epoxy it to the UEHG.
