Quick Review of today's haul, 2 grab bags, and My second Dominix RGB

Well I got my saber order today, my second Dominix V2 RGB (and hilt combiner) and a couple of grab bags.
One's a Liberator V3 with one mis-drilled hole and the other a Dark Liberator V3 which has one small mark on the hilt. I think I won there.

Though apparently green's my color. I have gotten 3 of 3 grab bags green. Not complaining, just apparently I'm supposed to be a consular.

My Old and New Domi's fit together beautifully for a nice double bladed monster. Did need a touch of oil on the connector, as it was a bit rough screwing in. I can tell you that apparently they're using better led's, because my new one gives brighter and purer colors. the three led 'white' is particularly better. But not so much it spoils the effect. (At first there was a real noticeable different but that was weaker batteries in my older ones).

It's a hair out of balance, the old Domi is very slightly heavier. The connector has a hole through it, and with it balanced on a rod, my old one slowly pivots to the bottom. But not so much as you'd notice in use. So very happy with my purchases. 5 stars.

Sounds like a cool collection. I've been giving a fair bit of thought to getting a Dominix or Aeon RGB lately, so it's good to know they're still selling them. Do you have any pictures you could share?

I'll get some pictures this evening but I did want to make a comment: Though the RGB has advantages, an RGB saber fully packaged is ~$160. You can get a soundless emerald V3 Dominix for ~$240, or a LE V4 domi for $260, which includes Li-ion power, and an MHS compatible end cap. I got my RGB to mainly give myself the ability to make a domi staff with my existing one.

I'll get some pictures this evening. With the normal sized blades in it the RGB Domi-dual is a monster, ~94" long from the round tip to round tip. For perspective, 96" is 8 feet. For you metric users, 2.39 Meters

My two grab bags alongside the assembled saber staff... the ceiling in my kitchen is barely enough for it to stand up.

My hilts all side by side, including my oldest E-series sabers I still own.


All of them lit side by side, the RGB's in blue and yellow (My camera picks up too much red when there are other lights present, and purples out the red led's for some reason).

You can see how much brighter the two green grabbags are compared to my E-series, which has fresh out of the back batteries in it.


Sith red baby... ok it looks kind of pink-purple, but they are red. They are a slightly different shade, but the older of the RGB's is 4 years old so I imagine the LED's might be a little different.

What colours can you get with the RGB? I'm assuming that other than the primaries you can get orange/yellow, purple, teal and white?

In the modern one, I get:
Red
Green
Blue
Cyan (Green/Blue)
Bright Violet (Red/Blue)
A good yellow (Red Green)
A slightly pinkish white (All three)

In the 4 year old one the red/green is about halfway between the yellow and the stock orange single color saber, and the white is a bit more pink.

Note that because it's using 3 discrete colors, the 'white' can't be color disk changed like an AS, which apparently produces a broad spectrum of light. On the other hand when matching the colors the AS is a little dimmer in general. (The old green e-series probably could be brighter but it only works on a pair of AAA's, not 4. )
