PO and FO...Thoughts?

Somewhat related to the topic - the one thing so far making me super glad I got Amber instead of White on my 4-chan is the fantastic GOLD color I get with the following settings:

R:  255
G:  255
B:  000
A:  255

Yes - fairly extreme setting.

That sounds pretty. I'm gonna have to try that.

Well JC I'll wear my hilt to the movie if you will   Thanks for the comparo, you can see that reddish tone in the PO, the FO looks nice on that Catalyst too.

Well Hazard, have you decided what Sith hilt you will get with an orange blade?  Like Lord Canterbury, I recently got an Emerald Dark War Glaive with Sunrider's Destiny in a UE blade.



Dark War Glaive also looks very good with JediXIX's Blood Orange.

Dark War Glaive also looks very good with JediXIX's Blood Orange.

VERY nice!  And lovely pics to show it off!  I think it's down to either the Raven or Crimson Reaper for PO, possibly a Sentinel V4.  

Right now I'm playing the imagination game - you know the one where you pic out what you'd get if you won the grand prize in the raffles.  I had questions in my head that needed to be answered in the event of such a thing.  And with what you all have shared I'd def choose a PO lightsaber.  

We'll see how the dust settles after I purchase a Menace in BR in the next raffles...

Brother, when you post numbers for each color, you are actually stating "25.5" correct?  Cause, I've  got to say, I'm not seeing "225" anywhere in the Emerald software.  Help me here.

255 is on the "Easy" color picker in the area where the numerical value for each color is displayed... if using the "advanced" sliders it equals 100% power to the Red, Green and Amber LED diodes... prodigious power consumption and heat generation so although a fantastic color, use caution as you are over-driving your saber.

You're gonna have to post me a screencap of what you are looking at 'cuz I don't know how you're not seeing it. 

When I pull up the LED Driver and hit the Set button for say the Blade, those sliders from 0 to 255 are what automatically come up.  I have no idea how else you would be setting the color for each channel other than that way.

Rob - maybe it's just a terminology thing, but setting multiple channels to 255 isn't "overdriving" the Saber.  The default BuckPuck settings take care of the resistance.

That said - the Launcher will allow you to override that and up the overall power to the Unit and overdrive them to make them brighter, but that is not the same thing as setting channels all the way up to 255.

My Gold setting will result in somewhat lower battery life, but it won't create a scenario where you are damaging the LEDs unless you also changed your LEDEngin settings as well to overdrive the LEDs.

(Even then - I think someone on here figured out you would need to run it that way for about 8 hours daily for 3 years to ruin the LEDs - about 8,500 hours!)

WOW!  That response seemed a bit "terse".  I figured it out.  I was using the "sliders" and NOT the "Easy Button" that shows what you all are talking about.  Truthfully, I looked at that once and never really ventured it again.  Now that I know, I will most likely use it more often.

Well I have a Raven in Fire Orange with UltraEdge HeavyGrade, it looks fine and gives it kinda of a darker border to the blade when lit up.

I swapped it out for the Ultraedge on my Dominix V3 and there's barely any difference but they still look great, MidGrade would be good to get the color to be really bright and in Pyrestone Orange would look really Sith-y.

But it's really up to the buyer when it comes to their Sith colors.

No brother, it's all good!  I'm feeling a bit out of sorts with the Emerald.  Been playing with it for about a week and just can't seem to strike the right balance.  I'm sure if I use the "Easy Button" all my troubles will melt away!
