Howdy all. I have a manticore in silver finish and I want to make it look a bit like the Old Republic Saber from SWG in color. However, I was considering going two-toned, doing a copper coat in some sections while taping off other sections to paint bronze later. What would be the best method of placing a metallic color on my lightsaber? My plan was to use testors paint, but I am a bit unsure of what to do.

I figured I would have to get a nylon brush and do the following:

1. Sand aluminum with a fine 200+ grit sandpaper

2. Apply primer, which in my case may be a silver or bronze enamel like this
...............A: http://www.testors.com/product-catalog/testors-brands/testors/enamel-paint/markers
...............B: http://www.testors.com/product-catalog/testors-brands/testors/enamel-paint/sprays

3. Apply several layers of an acrylic paint like this

4. Apply a clear coat like this
...............A: http://www.testors.com/product-catalog/testors-brands/testors/lacquer-paint/top-coats-and-thinners/

Does my methodology sound fine? I have NO experience with this sort of thing. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Your methodology is pretty sound, I've personally had better durability with enamel based paints than acrylic, but both work.

Would I use a white primer in 2, metallic enamel in 3 and clear coat in 4, or would I simply use metallic enamel and skip to the clear coat?
