So I wanted something a little different for the way I carry my saber and since I had this beautiful full grain and wonderfully dyed white leather (Nerdgasm moment cause can we just look at how good that white leather looks??? Most white leather, even if real, looks like pleather. Nergasm finished.)
It was fairly simple to sew and only took 30 minutes or so start to finish. Feel free to replicate! It works like a charm! And if i prefer it freeswinging i can just take out the leather thong at the bottom.
Thoughts?

DISCLAIMER: I am putting this in saber customization because it is less of a costume piece as much as an alternative to a D ring or a Covertec clip. If I am mistaken in placing it here my apologies and Ill delete this and repost it there.

Dude, that's sick!!! I've actually been thinking of something similar. A blaster style holster for a saber rather than the traditional methods.

I was thinking of a cross draw gun style holster, more like you'd draw a katana.

Have you thought about stitching the top and bottom of the holster?

That would be awesome! Could be pretty easy to modify my design to make it work that way really. I love the japanese idea since so much of the jedi is Samurai based.

What do you mean by stitch in the top? I understand the bottom I assume you mean just closing it. I left the top and the bottom open so I could fit the saber in with the blade still in it.

Sorry, I meant a more finished looking hem, it may just be me looking at the picture wrong.

No keep it open at the top and bottom, just a hem around the lip. My grandpa had an old sixshooter bolster and it bad this leather hem around the open ends of the leather.
