I was definitely thinking "EYE-Rum" but now I am convinced by the Latin pronunciation, "EE-rrom"

Iram, is that your real name? Or just a alias?

Greg wins. These are usually the 2 ways I pronounce it. But there are lots of ways to pronounce it.

Basically yes. Cheesy Cheesy

It's just my chief alias. It'd be a sick name though...

The latin way, using the continental pronunciation of the wovels and  our (Italian) r sound.

By the way, since we are talking about it, is there a specific reason behind your choice of the accusative case?

Something like "Ee-rum" I think (it's double difficult to write in english how I would pronounce something that I probably don't pronounce like an english speaking person^^)
So the "I" would be "Ee" (like the "i" is pronounced in german) and the "ram" would be "rum" ("why is the rum always gone") because the "a" in german is pronounced more like the english "u"

I have always thought of it as "I-ram". The letter "I" followed by "ram", as in a battering ram. I've never thought of it being different. Smiley

Not in particular, I just wanted a different form of "Ira", and I felt "Ira" itself was a little too common.

I was saying "eye-rum", but now I stand corrected.

Oh, and I AM CANADIAN, and at no point do I say "Doot", or "Aboot".

In fact, I only pronounce a long o sound when it's needed; as in "Roof".  Grin Tongue Roll Eyes

No, actually I do not.  Maybe the newfies do, but I have no control over that. lol

I'm also fluent in French, so pronunciation is somewhat important to me. Smiley
