So I am 6"4 and 175 pounds, I really want a one handed saber do to the fact of spinning and maneuverability. All the hilts I gravitate towards though are two handed such as the scorpion and war glaive. The one recently that I found myself really enjoying as well is the dark monarch, but it sounds like it may be out of stock for a while. So pretty much I want a single handed saber that you can feel in your hand (has some weight to it). Any suggestions or thoughts from experienced buyers?

The Catalyst/Dark Catalyst may be right up your alley, though the current wait time is 8-12 weeks.

They say the Consular is heavy, and it's also not very very long, and in your hands maybe could do a perfect one handed saber...also, it's completely MHS, plus the shroud that you can take of and make it darker looking for a more sith type. And it is a very cool saber as well... Only a sugestion, I'm not an experienced buyer since I only have one saber( two handed and veri light)

The Overlord is also night for both one and two handed grip. I have one myself. The groove grips make it really easy to handle and nothing is in the way like extra decoratives or anything. Love using that saber for random practices and stuff =]

I swing my Consular one handed all the time. It's very well suited for it.

since its your first i suggest the apprentice/dark its for one hand (or two small hands)
if its a two-hander then go for the sentinel/dark which a longer version of the apprentice
both these are good for first timers in my opinion. but its your choice
good luck on your purchase. enjoy

I haven't seen or handled at US saber yet that couldn't be used one handed. And the War Glaive is definitely NOT an exclusively two handed hilt.

That said, for spinning usually a saber choke points is preferred, such as the Apprentice/Sentinel lines and the Initiate/Aeon/Dominix lines (I personally prefer the choke points on the v3's over the v4's).

However, choke points are not a requirement.  I can spin my Dark Standard Issue, Liberator, and Archon v3.1 just fine.  And actually I haven't seen a US hilt that can't be spun.

For a first purchase for what you're asking, I would recommend the Dark Sentinel or Dominx v3.

basic sound (obsidian lite) means you cannot change sound fonts. its just the default sound

How does basic sound compare to premium?

Obsidian Lite (basic) is the default Obsidian Sound font.  You cannot change the sounds and you cannot change the volume.  You MUST get the standard 4xAAA battery setup with the Obsidian Lite.

Obsidian v3 (Premium) has one default sound font, but you can connect it to a computer and change the sounds and the volume. You MUST get the Li-ion rechargable battery setup with the Obsidian v3.

Obsidian v4 has 8 sound font sets in it and you can change from one set to another by pressing the on/off switch (exact instructions come with it).  You can also connect it to a computer and customize the sound font sets and change the volume. You MUST get the Li-ion rechargable battery setup with the Obsidian v4.

To me, the Obsidian Lite isn't worth it since it drains the standard battery setup pretty quickly, and the default volume is LOUD. Very loud.  And if you're going to go premium (and in my opinion you should), the Obsidian v4 is only $10 more than the v3, and given how much it does, it well worth it.

After further review I believe I am going to go with the Dominix LE v4 with DVA main blade and BH FoC. For pommel I plan to change it to the renegade LE small. White illuminated AV switch and with windows. Thoughts?
