The Red and Glass Eye buttons finally arrived today, but I didn't get home from work until late, so will install them either tomorrow after work, or Wednesday as I have the day off. Sill waiting on my grips from Sedsti (bloody USPS/Australia Post!)

My grips from Sedsti finally arrived!!!!  But I was at work, so have to pick them up tomorrow  I was also going to drill the holes for the Red and Glass eye buttons before tapping them, but the battery on my cordless drill was dead flat So it looks like I'll be doing everything tomorrow I started Operation: Moviefication of Graflex this evening, here's a few pics of how it looks without the buttons and grips -  All the bits and pieces - replacement buttons in foreground  Glass Eye hole  Red Button hole  Without grips I'll show comparison pictures of the grips side by side tomorrow, and with the rivets installed in them - can't wait! |

Right on Seano, It'll look awesome, but I'm not sure I'd have large enough cajonies to take apart a Graflex. Yours must be massive...lol Looking forward to seeing the end product! What a great saber.  |

It'll look awesome, but I'm not sure I'd have large enough cajonies to take apart a Graflex.
Yours must be massive...lol

What a great day for me sabre wise! Finally got around to installing my new buttons, and Grips by Sedsti™!  The grips feel great, they have a bit of a rough texture, so it doesn't feel like the sabre might slip if you get a bit sweaty. Also, they're not as bulky as the original ones, so feel more comfy. The rivets from the hardware store I had to trim down, as they were a bit long, so went into the inside of the hilt, and prevented the speaker/battery holder from sliding all the way into the hilt. So happy with these grips, thoroughly recommend getting some made up!        As the Glass Eye button is slightly smaller than the button on the Graflex, I cut down and filed down the insert from the original button, so the button sits more flush against the hilt. Also, there's a little bit of a gap between the red button and the hilt, so will purchase a beer tab down the line to cover up the gap. The thread of the buttons are 10-32, whereas the original buttons are 8-32, so had to do some drilling and tapping (something I haven't done since high school, a long time ago in a city far, far away! Sorry ) As a bonus, my Overlord which I got converted to Quick Disconnects, and purchased a Dark Manticore Emitter, Dark War Glaive Pommel, and TRI Blazing Red MLS Unit arrived today as well! http://www.saberforum.com/index.php?topic=30767.msg466616#msg466616 |
