Still I have a question, I well understand the blades are durable and all, but I wonder how durable is the blade holder part (the hilt in general). For example, the Procecy looks to have a thin blade holder attached to the hilt.
Let's assume some dueling, the blade will be strong, but will the blade holder be?
Is there any recommendation regarding this (some blade holders are strickly for display while other are for dueling... (just noob wondering here, as I have no knowledge on that)?
Hope I'm not off topic.
Cheers!

The thing about Ultrasabers is that they're designed from the ground up as battle sabers.  Rather than focusing on a ton of details and whatnot, they strive to make sure these things can stand up to a nuclear war and still remain intact.

I mean I don't work for them so I can't say anything for 100% sure, but I do know that they don't put a product out if it's not durable to the millionth degree.  I would say it's safe to assume ANY blade holder is going to hold up in a duel - especially since the hilts are all made out of aircraft-grade aluminum.

The Prophecy is a great dueling hilt, it is one solid piece, with only a removable pommel. It also has two blade retention screws, making it a very sturdy saber. It is very light when used with a Mid Grade blade.

Thanks for the answers both  Wink
Gives confidence in the product!

Anyway, I guess i'll really have an idea of that when I'll hold my first saber. Difficult to picture it without touching hehe.
I saw a bunch of videos, but was wondering, is there any video showing how the blade is removed / attached to the hilt, or even how a saber is assembled / disasembled?

There are some nice blade holder on TCSS too, so I wonder how easy it is to detach the blade, change the holder, ...etc... yet it may be off topic here  Roll Eyes

Back from holidays, back to work, and back to saber research too Smiley

Just for info, in fack I've mistaken the saber name in my previous post, wanted to talk about the Catalyst (and not the Prophecy).
Anyway, got my questions answered in the Review section of the forum  Wink

UE comes in MG and HG so it would be the same idea as normal MG and HG I would assume (i.e. MG good for spins and light sparring, and HG for more heavy whacking)...as to how it looks, some people say that UE tends to give the color a more pastel kind of look. Some people don't agree with that at all. I think it really boils down to your own personal eyes.

Ok thanks for your answer. because in the video's that are on youtube they don't say what type of blade it is but in some they do if it's a video of someone doing a review on it. and i was just asking because if i get one i am thinking about going with the UE because i just want to do some little dueling with it and know that it is going to hold up to that.

I have the standard mid-grades on my sabers, and me and my son duel pretty hard at times, mostly clashing after a spin or something to that effect, where we hit harder than we normally do, and we have no issues with the blades...cept for popping a top, but some superglue fixed that. The Mids have a little more flex to them than I'd like, but tolerable. Though my next buys will most likely have heavy grades so i can see and feel the differences.

It's not so much that the UE blade is brighter, as it fills more evenly.  With a standard mid-grade you'll still be able to see the tube when it's lit.  You can notice by how much of the text on the display stand is illuminated that the standard blade sends out more light.  Blazing red, in itself, is probably the dimmest color on offer here - but don't let that deter you, it will still be noticeably lit, even in broad daylight.

UE blades are, from my experience, every bit as durable as a standard - in other words very much so.  You'll probably lose a cap eventually (I have the worst luck, generally happens on the first good clash I give any blade) but that can be glued back on incredibly easily.
