Finally finished my Dark War Glaive update!


I had previously transferred the RGBA Emerald Driver w/ v4 Sound that was in it to my Dark Sentinel, so this had been left empty.


Here's what I put in:

- Luxeon Tri-Rebel Star in Deep Red

- Obsidian v4 Sound

- 2 Watt Bass Speaker

- 'Arc Reactor' style Red AV switch, sourced from the UK

- Hammered Raven Plain Pommel


Overall, I'm very happy with it.

I was able to run the LED in Series as the max forward voltage was 8.4 Volts . . . which just happens to be the total max charge of the 2 14500 batteries used by UltraSabers.

Convenient!

The Deep Red is a great shade of Red and it's really bright; when looking at it in person, the blade appears completely "full" with no shading or dead spots.

In fact - the blade is so Red, it almost looks Pink in these pictures.  Normally, Red will often appear somewhat Orangey in pics.

I'm also really happy with the Bass Speaker.  It gives the idle hum a really nice rumble and the clashes sound extremely crisp & clear.

The pommel also pairs nicely with the silver highlights on the main body of the hilt and I love the hammered texture I gave it.

Wicked mod Lord C!  I LOVE those switches!  Pommel looks so awesome, always love seeing a cool/ unique finish like that.   I'm picking up my deep red cree today after 1pm Smiley, if I can stay awake haha.  Can't wait to put it in its new home.  Glad to hear you're pleased about the colour, I'm really looking forward to seeing this version myself.

Great job- everything goes together so well.  Awesome saber.  Points.

Sleek pommels on larger hilts is still so exciting to me. The combo of the new switch and LED is pretty awesome ... Point!

Awesome stuff, Lord C.  Smiley  I've seen a blazing red blade show up pink before, I think it has to do with how the other lighting in the room affects your camera's lens.  Either way, it's a beautiful saber.  I'm not usually a fan of lit AV switches, but I really like that Arc Reactor style AV.  Smiley
