Seeking ideas to add weight

Hi! I recently received my very first saber, a Phantom V2, and am looking for ways to add weight to the emitter ends.

My current idea is to stick two shaft collars on there and call it a day, but am having trouble sourcing the appropriate size locally.

What other ways have people used to add weight towards the emitters? Someone suggested clear silicone foam tape on the blades, would that be viable at all?

Your saber is too light on the emitter side? Usually it's the other way round

Which kind of blade do you use?
Especially if you use 'only' MG(/UEMG), I would suggest to 'upgrade' to HG(/UEHG), as most times this should add enough weight (and the Heavy Grade is much more sturdy, too)...

I am already using Heavy Grade 30" blades on my Phantom V2. As single sabers the weight is just fine, but as a staff I intend to do lots of contact work and for that I need the weight distributed more towards the ends of the staff. Hence the idea for shaft collars as they can be disassembled pretty easily.

As it is a full steve is just barely possible, and a halo feels very, very precarious. Will probably cut the length down a couple more inches on each end.

Hmm, in that case (mods for contact work) I'd suggest asking Darth Cephalus over at the Saber Artistry section of the board; he has quite a lot more experience with that

You're probably going to have a problem getting shaft collars anywhere with the correct inner diameter, because it's a weird size.  The grip section on the Dominix/Aeon V2 has an outer diameter of 1.25", which you could at least order a shaft collar online to fit that.  However, the button and emitter sections of the hilt are thicker, between 1.25 and 1.4 inches.  I don't know if you'd be able to get one to clamp down to the right size.

Indeed. A quick measurement gives me 35mm and a smidgen, which I suppose is something like 1.38 inches. 35mm ID shaft-collars are available online, but it's really something I would prefer to fit test in a store first.

Incidentally I find the smooth button section to be a horrible culprit where sweat slickness is concerned. Any suggestions for that?

So I gave up on an elegant solution to my end-weight problem. At least for the moment. Went dumpster diving for some discarded bicycle tyre inner tubing and rigged up a simple wrap with electrical tape. Rather flimsy and definitely won't last long, but it works. Mostly.

Still having issues with the saberstaff getting too slick and sliding all over the place. Will pull out the rubber O-rings and go grip hunting. Probably start with bicycle handle-bar grip and see how that goes.
