Fear The Dizzy Side Of The Force...

« on: December 15, 2016, 11:56:21 PM »

I'm not entirely sure if this is the right place to post this question, but, it seems to me that there are a LOT of people here that have more than one saber - hence, more than one blade (for different applications).  My question is, is there any kind of sheath that is available for purchase to keep a saber's blade protected from dust and debris?

I know I could probably order some fabric and sew it myself, but I thought I'd ask this so as to take a shortcut.

Thanks in advance.   Smiley

Not that I am aware of. Someone on the boards made one DIY and posted a pic.

In my black cloak/robe I sewed a small chamber in the folds for the blade. Its hidden well. That way I can hang my hilt on my belt, but still have my blade with me. My cloak/robe has a lot of material and tons of folds so it works out well.

You only live once. Wrong.
You only die once.  You live every moment of your life.
The question is, are you alive, and living your life? Or just here, and watching your life go by?

Steel is my body and fire is my blood
I have created over a thousand blades
 Unknown to death
 Nor known to life
Have withstood pain to create many weapons
Yet those hands will never hold anything

For me, I used 1" PVC pipe. I used the 10' kind you can buy at Home Depot. Some of my sabers are 36" and others are 32". I just measured the pipe, sawed it, carved out my design, put a little bit of eva foam inside toward where the tip of the blade would go (as a stopper so that the lightsaber won't fall out even when upside down), painted it and finally capped it with a, ummm, pvc cap hehe. It's not difficult. The pvc is like 2 bucks. I sold a few on eBay. May eventually sell some on etsy, but even with blades being standard sizes, the blades fit into hilts differently so there aren't universal scabbards that I build.

What did you use to cut in the designs? a dremel or something?
Really like this idea, and may just have to try it out for myself!
