Man, I was so close to deciding, and now another hilt has entered the race. I almost ordered a catalyst last night, but now the Archon v2 has seriously intrigued me (again) I've always been pretty fond of it, but now remembering it's entirely MHS compatible, it's making me think. It would be nice to be able to swap out emitters AND pommels, not to mention LEDs...hmmm

Hey all, new to posting here, but I have checked out the forums before. Looking to grow my lightsaber collection, which sadly has no custom builds in it yet..YET!! I will be adding my first US soon, (hopefully in time for the raffle) yet even after about a year of looking around this place, I still haven't decided what my first hilt will be, all I know is it will have a VA or DVA blade. Anyway, I'm glad to finally be joining the forum, and I hope to get to know all of you!

Welcome! Choosing the first saber can be daunting but fun at the same time. usually folks have something in mind that guides the decision and the let the Force do the rest.    What are you looking for? A hilt that resembles one that you see in the movies? A hilt that have very practical dueling function? A hilt that is light, simple in design?

Yeah the Archon 2.1 and the Catalyst both seem to really be popular right now. I really love the MHS compatibility features on my Archon 2.1. Swapping out the neck for a silver vented coupler was especially fun to give it a windowed look. The blade sits as deep as 4 inches inside the emitter if you want, so it's especially secure. You can also remove the neck altogether and it becomes a shorter apprentice length saber. Here are some pictures that may help. I personally want a Catalyst as well, but if I didn't have either, I'd probably go for the Archon myself:

Well hey! That's pretty saweeeet news.  

One other thing to consider... The Archon allows quick disconnects, so for $15 extra you get the capability to change to a different LED colors at $35-$50 each, which you can do gradually over time if you want and a handy alternative if getting Emerald isn't an option. I often get Emerald on sabers that don't have the option for quick disconnect LED units, like the Catalyst, for example, because on those Emerald is the only way to change the colors unless you know how to rewire an LED yourself or are ok sending it back to Ultra Sabers to have the LED changed for $50. Still, though, you'd really be able to customize the Archon in so many ways of you got the Emerald board on it. That's a 4 way customization set with the pommel, the neck, the emitter and ANY color you want the blade to be. It'd be like a chameleon!

Whew...pulled the trigger everybody. Archon v2 Emerald w/ sound. Shipped with DVA. Even added a coupler for a crystal chamber! I can't wait for it to show up!
