Hey i just orderedmy first saber, ever, a dominix v3 standard edition. Im waiting with much anticipation... Anyways i was checking out additional pommels and emitters when i came across the claws section. My question is, would i be able to use a claw on the dominix emitter? Or would i have to buy the dark war glaive emitter to hold a claw? (the claw i want says its for the dark war glaive)   I wouldnt mind getting a new emitter but it would be cool if the dominix v3 could handle the claw without any additional customization. Thanks for reading, let me know if you have any info on the topic!

Sorry to say, but the Dominix v3 doesn't have interchangeable emitters.  It is possible to modify it to take a war glaive claw, if you're not afraid to take a drill and tap to it.  Other than that, the sad answer to both of your questions is no.

It could be done.  You would need to be able to drill two holes and tap one of them into the saber...of course without knowing where the wires and led unit sits inside the saber I wouldn't want to attempt it.

Ya i know what you mean... I think im just gunna get a claw and seek an alternative method of attaching it, i mean glue would work but thats cheesy. I was thinking maybe magnets or something. Idk.

If you intend on dueling with it , you will need to attach it really good. It will have to be screwed on so you , nor your opponent gets hurt by a flying claw.

You may want to check and see if there is a machinist around your town (I know I would go that route).  It wouldn't cost you anything to see how much they would charge to put it on for you.

Smiley

My sugestion is, to simply go to your local hardwere store, and ask for "something to cut a hole in the aluminium and thread it". Sorry for the wierd expressions... It should look like a simple screw, but mutch sharper. And you get 3 or 4 of them in diferent sizes.

1st u need to make tiny hole in your emitter (you will NOT damage any if the interior electronics, cuz you will be basicly making another hole just like the retention screw has that holds the blade). Then just use the 3-4 "screws" to make the thread. (theese 3-4 "screws" are to actualy cut the thread in to the hole u made, one is slightly bigger than the one before and so on).

I was suprised how soft aluminium is with the proper tool, felt like butter Smiley

Anyway, ill try to post some pics of theese "screws". The whole process is realy simple (all u need is a handdrill and theese "screws")

I believe what Maslac is referring to is called a "Tap and Die" set:

The pieces that look like drill bits are the taps.  These are the "screws" Maslac referred to.

The round hollow pieces are the Dies.  They are used to put threads on the OUTSIDE of something, like a bolt or screw.

This really isn't as hard as it sounds. I did this, with no lead up and no experience, down the throat of the engine in our old Voyager to fix a spark plug, in the rain, while my family waited in the car. I was panicked at the shop, but the lady behind the counter said, "Don't worry, this really isn't as hard as it sounds."

I'm passing that on to you.

Glue and magnets are not only going to fail, they'd be dangerous.

I'm behind Navajas 100%.  It's easy, really.  In fact, as we speak, I'm considering doing this to my SI so that I can attach a Raven claw to it.

Once you do so, you MUST post it. I love the SI silhouette and the Raven claw idea sounds Bamf.
Also, I too thought of adding an attachment to my Aeon V2, but reconsidered. If you REALLY want to modify your saber, go ahead, but consider that this is going to be your FIRST SABER- which to me feels a bit, I dunno, SACRED- and anything you do, you cannot UNdo. I would be very careful and precise if you choose to go ahead with it.
