Is there any option available for a shorter blade than even the initiate 24"? Like something ranging from 10-16"?

You could always buy an Initiate blade and ask them in the order comments to cut it to whatever length you want.  They're normally happy to help with these kinds of special requests.

I was afraid to buy one and alter it myself. I thought I might crack or break it and ruin the entire blade somehow. I just don't trust myself when it comes to things like that. Now that I know, I can plan what length I really want to get. Thanks.

a hacksaw, pipe cutters tool, just make sure you get a nice even cut.  I have used a pipe cutters tool to shorten the blade.

My vote is for using a tungsten carbide saw. pretty easy to find, pretty cheap for a folding one. Its got a unique blade that isn't serrated, rather coated with angled edges, so you can't really cut yourself with it but it can saw through a steel pipe easy. I usually use that sort of thing when sawing metal or synthetics, especially tubing, since the unique blade will cut pretty cleanly with little to smooth out and you're less likely to do yourself personal injury if you slip.
