**Mystery Box** What did you get???

Just opened my 2nd $75 mystery box.  Received a Standard Aeon V4 with a silver AV switch, no sound.  It came with a 32" mid grade blade in guardian blue.  My daughter has already claimed it lol.

Since this pommel is a bit of a " mystery " here is the top part.  I have put in a black foam insert to block most of the vents to decrease the sound in the apartment.  With the Guardian neck there is a really cool sort of circular resonance sound chamber.  Don't know how I scratched the pommel but an easy fix.  I'm liking my sabers not so pristine lately.  

Hmmm. Do you know what the diameter of the pommel is? I tend to prefer mine to match the saber their attached to.

In other news, I finally opened my saber order yesterday. Added a Dark Initiate v4, Blazing Red, a Dark Apprentice saber staff, both in Pyrestone Orange, and my mystery saber, which turned out to be a Sentinel in Arctic Blue. Happy with it since I already like the Sentinel hilt, and I didn't have a saber in any shade of Blue yet. Also, thankfully, it breaks my streak of all of my raffle prizes/grab bag sabers having a Green LED.

My first mystery box was a Dark Sentinel V4 stunt with windows and a black AV switch in GB. At first, I wasn't that thrilled with it, but after breaking down and ordering myself a Reaper (in FO) and seeing what a monster hilt that is, I've come to like the Sentinel for the comfort of the grip. Easy to use with one hand or two (where the Reaper really needs two IMHO), it will even work well as an off-hand blade.

My second mystery box should be here today, and I'm giddy with excitement. Will report back when I have it.

Got a stunt Dark Apprentice V4 in GB with black AV switch and no windows. I'm not sure if it is because of how the AV switch is glued in, but a blade plug won't go all the way in (it sticks out about 1/2 to 3/4 of an inch.) None of my other 4 US have this issue, including my Dark Apprentice LE.   If I was picking my blade colour, I would have picked anything but GB since I have an Aeon with V4 sound in GB. Maybe I will trade it to my son for his stunt CG Initiate LE V3. Not sure of I would do the $75 mystery box again... I think I was too late to the party and all the really good surprises were gone early in the run.

Although purely speculative, from a business and marketing point of view, it makes sense to provide the bigger prizes in the beginning to build the hype and increase orders, then level out and spread them to recoup profits and provide more normal sabers in line with typical margins.  I'm sure there are still big prizes out there but probably not in the high proportion we saw at the very beginning.  If sales of these start to drop though, I would expect the cycle to start over again, that is if this will be a continued option and not a limited time thing as is implied by their email ad saying to get them before they run out.

Obviously the LED is sitting higher up causing the blade plug to stick out.

I'd wager there's a bit too much glue used for the switch and some of it ran towards the emitter and won't let the LED down as far.

As a suggestion - the DIY solution for this is to slide the LED out the top (if the glue isn't holding it in too) and cut away any excess glue.

As long as the battery pack is in all the way there'll be enough wire for the module to slide out.

I got a Reaper in a $200 Mystery Box. While I agree it is a two handed saber as is in going to change my up a little, the actual hilt is not very long.

I really don't think that is the case. For 1 I'm sure only a fraction of the ones bought are by members on the forum, and second people tend to want to share excitement. So you will probably buy % points get more high end winnings posted instead of just over the cost of the box sabers being posted.

But yours and mine are just theories.

got my two mystery box sabers the other day. the 200 $ was a Bellicose lite sound, arctic blue i think. and the 75 $ was a Archon v2.1 arctic blue also. there was no writing on the paper wrap only mike was on both?
