I purchased this hilt with green LEDs. (part of a bulk hilt purchase)  One of the exhaust ports stopped working a while back, one of the wires had been severed.  I disassembled and repaired.  Today I wanted to see what kind of LEDs were in it so I could order new red LEDs.  I noticed the exhaust port LEDs had a negative post on the circuit board and three other posts each labels R+, G+ and B+.  The positive wire is soldered to the G+ post.  I resoldered it to the R+ theorizing it would change to Red.  It worked.  I then did this to the other exhaust port LED.  Powered it on and the 2nd LED does not work.  I thought I might have damaged it during soldering but wanted to make sure it wasn't a wiring issue somewhere.  Multimeter showed voltage to the working LED at right at 2 VDC, the nonworking LED was above 6 VDC on the contacts on the board...so I know it is getting power however I am not sure why it is a different voltage from the power pack.  The power pack is 2 AA 3.7 volt Li-ions.

Now...full disclosure...I can solder...can use a voltmeter...I understand basic wiring and circuitry...however when it comes to resisters, ohms and all that...I know zero.

Onto the main blade LED.  I thought this was going to be a simple thing to find but not quite.  It is a A007 Luxdrive.  I found the red variant of the LED.  Model is A007-ERED0-N2 however I have yet to find an online source to be able to just add to cart.  I checked Ultrasabers site under parts, the only thing I can find is are the MLS module and the regular LED module, would either of these work?

As a reference this is what is now in the hilt for the main blade.

TIA,
Ron

That's right the red die can't handle the same fwd voltage as the green and blue. The reds do need to be resistored to be protected and run properly. Why there's different power levels to each side is a mystery but I wouldn't bet on the working red side to last long and should be resistored.

If your looking for replacement LED's and resistors from other than US, The Custom Saber Shop has these parts and can be nicely compatable with your US.

Well one of the resistors is out. Completely tore it down and put a meter to it. Same voltage on either side of it. When the resistor went out it looks like it took the corresponding LED with it.

I'll be getting a new resistor and LED.  Even without it's guts this hilt is so mean looking.
