Hello Everybody, It's about time I share another design with you all and in particular a certain Darth Logos. Newer members may not know but Logos has served this forum valiantly for around 11 years and it was the anniversary of the day he joined recently (sorry to remind you Logos). So in recognition of this feat I tweaked an older design which Logos took an interest in and I sorta offered him it as a "virtual gift". Having served more than 10 years I renamed the hilt "Decayed".....    Thanks to Logos for his commitment and input to the forum and thanks to the rest of you for checking this saber out. |

Hi MavRick, I couldn't not do something to mark such an achievement. I thought the time I spent here was impressive but eleven years is some going and in that time he has helped or given me his advice or opinion many times so this was away of paying him back. This forum is the full extent of my social media so I'm glad to still be a part of it. Yes it's good to get feedback, opinions and advice on things. It helps to get a diffrent view from time to time. Hi MavRick and Logos....I'm afraid for once I may have bad news....the Wookie tribute hilt I modelled was lost when my laptop bricked. However as and when I have spare time I could add an ebony Brylark (and maybe the Wookie) to my list of "To Do Items". And regarding Social Medias....I am a member of a livestreaming site (but I only watch and comment, no broadcasting). And I have an account for a community forum site belonging to a friend of mine. Otherwise this forum is my only real Social unless my blog counts. To keep within rules I won't add a ink to my blog but if interested you can ask Google who For Tyeth/FTSabersite is and it'll provide a link. (Can you believe it, Google actually knows who I am  ) |

Hi there, there's nothing overly special about the site but I do post to it weekly and showcase a new design (or variants thereof) each week. As of today I have 746 posts and some posts feature batches of designs such as my collection of Mighty Morphing Power Rangers katana so the total number of hilts escapes me - there's quite a few. I don't mention the site as much as I could is because I do have designs built using a modular saber building app from the "Other Guys" done way back when I started out. Now I use Blender 3D exclusively so all my sabers are built from scratch. It's not much in the big scheme of things but I'm proud of it. And yes thanks for the suggestion of the data retrieval devices - I have heard of them but just haven't been able to afford looking at getting one. I have about 100Gb+ to try and get back so need to check just how effective the devices are. |

What I meant was, trying to retrieve the images from your website, or is it more the actual design files that are lost? But yeah, 100Gs is a lot of data. |

Hi Logos, yes I'm trying to recover the actual model files some of which are 8MB just for the file (these are similar to the ones you would upload into a 3D printer or CAD machine). Then there are some designs that had photoreal textures so those photo images need to be bundled with each model. I'm just saving some cash and then will see what I can do about getting one of those devices (if they work as well as reported). Thanks to both of you as always and hoe all's well with you. Points. |

Hello Everybody, I just happened to check my calendar and realised we'd slipped into March already and then I realised it's a MONTH since I posted a new design so I best get on and do that right now. After being inspired by all the nature of New Zealand I started designing a few hilts such as the Waitangi Grounds inspired hilt. But around this time Marvel were pushing their new film Antman and I was asked by a fellow blogger to see if I could do an Antman themed saber. As always I set to work and came up with this crossover display...     I reckon it looks a bit like an Ant....despite not having seen the film at the time! Anyway I hope you enjoyed this one, sorry it was a bit late in coming. |

I think the standard non suit coloured version will look a bit more Ant-like Anyhoo here is the Carpenter Ant pic I worked from for the head details.
