Not a great fan of that black ring from the Butcher pommel against that nice yellow and silver. But I do really like the look of that extension. I can see it's ribbed, but are the edges sharp? Does it cut your hands when you slide from the silver ring onto the ribs?
And that emitter? I read that it's a chevron emitter, and I'm probably blind, but I can't find a Chevron blade or emitter on the US site. I like the look of it. But I'm with Cylcops on the great look of the origninal combat-ready emitter. I'm curious how that emiiter will look on other hilt as well.
Great project, I'm looking forward to seeing what you'll make of it. Maybe make your own line of Frankensabers?
This will eventually be a "character" saber, the penultimate (I hope) saber for Ka'A'Mack, Master Singer of the Mak'Tor. :-)
The extension is indeed ribbed, its one of the "gear" extensions from TCSS. It is not sharp, the edges are nicely rounded and the gears themselves round at the ends to blend down to the surrounding pieces.
As for the pommel... The original intent was to get a Butcher LE pommel, but there were not available. I have to admit I'm not as big a fan of it as I was hoping myself, but there are ... other changes ... coming to the hilt that might make it more palatable. :-)
The emitter is also from TCSS, it is MHS v1 compatible and would fit any US saber with a removable emitter. I still need to drill and tap the retention screw holes for the blade, and I am torn about using it as well. The Fallen emitter is just .... Yeah.
That's going to be a hard choice.
For now, though, this is only phase 1. Phase 2 is coming ... :-)
