Your camera probably focused on the saber blade, which was the brightest point in the picture, causing the camera meter to read a lot of light and darken the picture. That would cause the image to appear darker than you originally intended. To prevent that, try manually focusing on something other than the saber blade.

I just got this black cloak in the mail today...  This is not the actual costume I am currently working on, just me being a dork in my cloak with my Dark Initiate...  (although the claok will be used, with the hood tucked in, so as to make it a cape, for the costume I am working on)

I gotta try one of those bullet tips. How are they even in person? I know they aren't really safe for dueling but it doesn't mean you can't sand the bullet tip down some to make it the best of both worlds which I might try to do. =]
