Looking good, Zren. I agree, the Shock is a fantastic saber. I like yours with the dark emitter and Dorinian pommel.

They're generic or common lightsaber hilts like the ones that Obi-Wan and Anakin were given in Petranaki arena in Episode 2.  The Dorinian is considered a clan lightsaber since Plo Koon and Luminara had identical ones minus accented colors

Yes. They would be considered Clan sabers by Jedi and Sith alike.

"Clan" sabers?

Fan BS made canon due to cheap generic prop saber making that "needed a backstory".

Like 4 or 5 notable Jedi use it in the movies so therefore it has to mean something.

If memory serves both Vader's and "Luke's" were made out of Graflex flashes. Does that make them from the same clan?

"Clan" sabers?

The full story is essentially this: Jedi trained together in little groups, known as clans, before separating to study with individual masters. The group training with Yoda in AOTC is the Bear Clan. When they get to the point where they build their sabers, the sabers tend to look alike as they use the same plans. That's the explanation for so many lookalike sabers in the prequels, apart from the real world one, which is that they only made so many different saber designs and molds to cast resin copies.

Maybe stuff matches, because it becomes mainstream fads. Why can't Jedi have fads? Like, what if younglings started wearing shirts with Revan's mask on them? They'd be punk Jedi.

What if all the Jedi sabers were MHS all along?

I always thought Jedi with similar sabers was a result of their masters influencing their saber design. The master had a saber, the padawan's look similar. Eventually when one Master has trained a bunch of Jedi that are now masters, and they are all training jedi, there end up with quite a few sabers that look similar, but with only slight differences.

Yeah, that's been one of the longstanding explanations. An Apprentice makes a saber based on the design of their Master's saber as a sign of respect. Of course, a lot of that comes from Luke's saber being similar to Obi-Wan's. In the in universe (non canon) explanation, Luke used schematics he found in Ben's house on Tatooine to construct his saber. Of course, the real world explanation for it is more stupid and funny. When they went to Tunisia to start filming, ROTJ, they brought a bunch of saber hilts. Someone was about to give Luke his familiar Graflex when someone else pointed out that he lost that in the last film. So, they improvised a saber hilt for him using one of Alec Guiness's stunts from the first film.
