Hello everyone! I'm new to the forum, my name is GreyJediKENOBI but you can just call me Kenobi if you want (as long as it's not a taken nickname). I'm rather new to Ultrasabers as well, but I've quickly grown to love their sabers. I've also been educating myself on their sabers quite a bit over the past few months which will help me decide on my next purchase.

I am eyeing up a Flamberge LE for my next saber. I love the crossguard design, and can't wait to have one of my own. However, I'm having a hard time figuring out the blade color. I want my next saber to be sentinel yellow, but because of the limited number of LEDs allowed in the crossguard blades, not all the blades can be sentinel yellow. I also saw that flash on clash was not an option with a sentinel yellow Flamberge either (I'm guessing this is also because of the limited number of LEDs). Flash on clash is very important to me, as I don't have a saber equipped with it and would love to try it out.

Now I've heard that adegan silver paired with one yellow and one orange color disk makes a very accurate sentinel yellow, and that this color is the easiest to achieve with the color disks. However, I know that the color disks dim the blade a bit, and I want a nice, bright lightsaber. Here are my questions:

1. How much of a brightness difference is there between regular SY and yellow achieved with a color disk? (I plan on using an Ultraedge Heavy Grade blade).

2. How does flash on clash look with an AS blade with yellow and orange color disks? What color should I select for FoC so that it's noticeable?

Any suggestions would be appreciated!

Hello there, GJ Kenobi. Welcome to the forum, I look forward to seeing pictures. Are you thinking about ordering a Flamberge with a SY blade?

No worries, I merged your edit onto this one since it was already responded to and removed the other thread.

You're welcome. I want to add that the color disks are decent, they will get the job done though but I use Lee Filter swatch books, you can find them here:

https://shop.leefiltersusa.com/LEE-Swatch-Books_c4.htm

Or here since Lee's prices has gone up

While it may be out of your current price range, I feel I should point out you can have a flamberge with any color you want, with matching cross guard blades, by ordering a diamond driver. You lose the ability to dictate them to be different colors from the main blade, but they will match any color. I recently placed an order for a flamberge v2 in hot pink. The idea of such an intimidating weapon in such a silly color still makes me laugh and I can’t wait to get my hands on it.

Yes, there's always the Diamond Controller or Emerald Driver route that one can go with on a saber

Thanks for the suggestion! I have thought about a diamond saber, but I plan on using my Flamberge for medium to heavy dueling. I've heard that diamond sabers can sometimes experience issues with gestures and and sound when used in dueling. I don't know if that's a common problem but I'm not sure I want to use such a sophisticated lightsaber for dueling purposes. I know all of Ultrasabers' sabers are duelworthy, but is there anything in the diamond saber that might be at a higher risk for damage than a regular obsidian?

As with any electronic/machine, the more parts to it, the more that can go wrong. That being said, there are things you can do to help protect your saber from damage. One of our wonderful forum users has recently unleashed a custom made chassis upon the community, and while his are currently set for stunt, I'm sure a version made for diamond sabers will not be far behind. There's just more to figure out in that case. I suggest looking here: http://www.saberforum.com/index.php?topic=44766.0 to see what that's about. You can also PM GeneralMalice- directly and see if they could do something. If nothing else it would give you a little more piece of mind knowing your saber getting slapped around wont be banging the boards on the sides of the hilt.

The Diamond controller uses accelerometers to detect motion just like any soundcard. Because it is gesture controlled they do more than in standard sound sabers. Accelerometers have very tiny moving parts and can be subject to vibrational damage from dueling. Even with a good chassis any saber with sound or more is higher risk than stunts. The more advanced it is the greater the risk.

That makes sense. Thanks for the bit of info on how they work!
