Hey guys, I hadn't turned my saber on in a while thinking that my Li-Ion batteries had died. However, I ordered a new set of batteries with a new charger. I charged them fully. Immediately after putting the batteries into the saber, the sound comes on and says "obsidian." However, it will not turn on or do anything else after this. Any tips for what might be going on? I was really hoping to get it working by Halloween. Thanks in advance for any help you can provide.

Did you delete a font completely? You may be able to change fonts; if you haven't tried, do so. Just like changing any other font but without sound like without a startup.

I don’t think so...I haven’t plugged my saber into a computer in quite some time. Could the font somehow be erased on its own? Also, even if the fonts were deleted, wouldn’t the LEDs still turn on? Neither the lights nor sound work after the initial “obsidian.”

Connect it to the program on your computer. If it shows up in the application, your saber is turning on, and you're able to change fonts (theoretically). If it doesn't connect to your comp then it's a hardware issue. Do you use PC or MACINTOSH?

I use a Mac. I'll try to connect it later today.

Try this version of the program:

https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1Jz_WhfgrJb601RLIyDemF99v27YwRCf9?usp=sharing

Use it for v3 and v4 sound and emerald. If you have a Diamond saber, I wouldn't recommend it. (Same thing they told me when I first started buying Ultrasabers)

I was also told not to run any of the Utilities in the software package; the software will not run. So use this backup if your in a comparable situation.

Thanks so much for your help. I found out it's definitely power switch on the saber itself. I got it to "turn on" when I put the batteries in while it was plugged into my computer. After I unplugged it, it stayed on. I tried working the power switch to change the sounds and found it wouldn't do anything. Is there anything I can do on my own (without using soldering iron or anything like that) to fix the power switch?

Try emailing Joshua at [email protected]. Maybe he can get the hardware fix for you.

Or you could just toss it and get a new one. . . .
