I have people up at work asking me to bring mine in. I should adhere to their requests lol. On another note, the other day I was out practicing some Shii-Cho kata and these 3 teens walked by. They must of been 16, 17 years old. Well needless to say they stopped and stared at me for a good minute before I said something. I could tell they were making fun of me by the snickers and the points, but I didn't care. And then the very next day one of the little girls over here around 5yrs old was fascinated by my saber and asked if she could stay and watch me. She was sweet and polite and I explained to her what it was and what exactly I was doing. I told her that I would be back out later that night to practice with my brother once it got dark out. Sure enough she was waiting by her window after the sun went down and cheered me on from her room! The moral and point of this story is, Yes, you will have people that poke fun and laugh at you b/c you have a lightsaber. And this could have happened 100 times, but that one interested lil girl is what trumps all the negative. I love my saber and I love to enlighten all those inspiring young jedi/sith  And this is why carrying your lightsaber is worth it  Well said! I get free stuff all the time when people notice my lightsaber, but I also get the occasional rude person. I was in boot barn yesterday and I had a group of girls see my lightsaber... One of them was adamantly disgusted by it lol, which just cracked me up. I am married to a gorgeous woman, so I don't really care, but I get a lot of female attention that I don't want, so sometimes it's nice to get the typical "nerd" treatment. My thing is, I really don't care what other people think about my lightsaber... I like that it keeps fake people away from me, and I like that it reminds me who I am, and where I come from. If people can't accept that... I don't need them in my life. |

If people can't accept that... I don't need them in my life. Preach it, LK! I too am married to a beautiful woman whom loves the giant nerd that resides within my chest. You get all that attention, LK, cuz of the beard man! Chicks love the scruff lol. But it seems we have something in common, bud; We both married women that dig our lightsabers |
