War Glaive and Shock Review from a newbie. . .

Hi all.  I am finally getting around to posting a review of my first saber, the Dark War Glaive.  And a subsequent saber I ordered that very week, the Shock.  These reviews are coming from someone new to the hobby, so they will seem somewhat starry-eyed.  Please forgive me if I sounds geeked-out and awe-struck.  

The Dark War Glaive.  My wife bought this for me for my birthday and I have to say it is one of the best gifts she ever bought me!! It is an RB with Mid Grade blade, Obsidan, and red AV switch, with quick disconnect.  I loved this thing as soon as I took it out of the box.  It was the perfect saber for a budding sith.  As soon as I could download the Obsidian launcher, I loaded the Black Star fonts to give it an extra sinister touch.  It is balanced well and is great for spinning.  It just felt really good to hold.  It is something of a beast, but it is beautiful!! I almost immediately ordered a DVA MLS to add a different dimension to it.  The DVA is awesome!  9.5/10

The Shock.  I ordered this the same week that I recieved the War Glaive because I was so impressed with my first saber.  After listening to all the different fonts, I became enamored with the idea of a saber that a jedi would have with him on an ice planet, such as hoth.  So, I picked the Shock with AB, Mid Grade Blade, Obsidian w/ blue AV switch, and FoC silver.  Once again, US did not disappoint.  This one felt just as good as the DWG and it was just as beautiful.  I have decided from now on, ALL of my future saber purchases (except for Gab bags) will have FoC and Obsidian.  It is SO WORTH the extra money!! Highly recommended.  The effect is fantastic!! Another 9.5/10 again.

My kids and I have had so much fun with these sabers.  I look forward to purchasing more.  I just wish I could get the d*** LSU converter to work.  Ugh!!  Anyways, I have attached a link to the pics.  I hope they come through.  Comments and suggestions are always welcome.

Those are two awesome sabers! I agree, once you go Obsidian it's hard to do without! I'm actually fighting the urge to get it in a staff only because I like the flush mounted connector. That's not the topic though, great pictures! The DVA is an eye-catching color, eh? I love it!

I am sorry that I didn't get FoC on the War Glaive.  Yes, that DVA is sick!! I may order a PO module just to see what that looks like next in the DWG.  Yeah, from here on out all of my sabers are going to be tricked out with Obsidian, AV switches, and FoC.  This is going to be an expensive hobby.  May have to cut back on the comic books.  LOL!! I am glad the pics came through.  I haven't tried posting pics on here before.  I hope to see pics of the staff you are talking about, Vrenen.

Very Nice start to the saber scene ! And IMHO you couldn't of fallen in with a better group of people. Point for the DVA selection, I LOVE that color.

Congrats on the sabers. im so jealous right now!!! have you tried switching emitters yet?? id love 2 c a shock with the warglaive emitter

No, I haven't tried trading emitters yet.  I'll post a pick when I do.  I sent the Shock in for some repairs and I've already received notice that it is on it's way back.  So I am expecting it this week.  I hadn't thought to try switching emitters because the color scheme is so different, but I will give it a shot.  Thanks for the idea.

Really love the War Glaive.  I don't think anyone can go wrong with that saber.  It is beautiful and can go either jedi or sith.  I am an Ohio State Buckeyes fan and am thinking of getting a silver War Glaive with a BR blade and red AV switch, and a silver Foc just for fun.

The Shock just looks fantastic with that blue theme.  It's just so... pure.  Like a true "good guy Jedi" weapon.

Nice sabers they both look really cool, and you also mentioned not being able to work the LSU converter, if you still need help with it i would be glad to help you with any problems

Thanks for all the great compliments.  I love these sabers because they are both extreme in terms of being Sith or for being Jedi.  There isn't any question which side of the force these represent.  I look forward to getting something intermediate for my next saber.  Maybe something with Sentinel Yellow or Sunrider's Destiny or maybe just Adegan Silver.  Any suggestions?

I got the Shock saber back.  US replaced the soundboard and it works great now.  I haven't tried uploading any sounds, a little gun shy about trying that since the whole thing went bananas when I tried to upload a custom sound font.  But I am sure I will get around to trying it again.  I tried switching the emitters of the DWG and the Shock.  I know I promised pics, but trust me, it was pretty ugly.  So I forwent the pics.  Unless someone is REALLY dying for them, I will save everyone the memory space. 

I was finally able to get the converter working.  But the saber went nuts right after I tried to download a font I made using the converter.  I hate to think that is what hosed the board although I don't know that is what happened for sure.  Thanks for the offer to help, Takanuva588.  I appreciate it.

I dont really think the custom sound font was the problem, just the soundboard itself, but im glad to see you got everything back in order for the most part. but its about time i started testing all of my custom sound fonts tht i will eventually post here for everyone to get and enjoy.
