I saw this thread a while back before I was making videos and then forgot about it. Since then, I have been doing a lot of work in a thread over here

http://www.saberforum.com/index.php?topic=18370.0

Looking around, I saw some good work from CH3M15T over here and went through the vids from Arkanus. This thread is nice because it gives people a look at skill progression in a linear format. I therefore thought I might post mine. I have a youtube channel here with all of my work

https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC-lqjxfFJG8uZsJis4grvew

But I keep a special playlist for practices here

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pGadlSECXF4&list=PLf2BA9eUktwtKNRdHvsjMzduHyt3BZx0x

Personally, it is kind of a trip to watch it in chronological order and see how far I have come. I started recording practices when I was working on the inverted obi/ani and Venurous asked me to post a video so he could see what I was talking about. Since then, I caught the youtube bug and have done a lot more. Most recently as of this post, I am working on dual wield. It is not my favorite but I needed a bit of a break from single saber before I finish up my latest tutorial series, and honestly, I wanted to prove to myself that I could do it. A lot of these are elsewhere on the forum, but I am a big fan of populating the forum with my videos. I find it useful to take a trip back, seeing the difference between where I was and where I am. Hopefully it may be useful to some of you as well. Great thread by the way.

Yes i agree with all of your points made in this.

Me, you, Venturous and Arkanus have developed alot of skills, on our own and collaborating, probably doubling my progression with some moves.
I enjoy seeing how i've developed from past vids, but i have deleted a few now knowing i far surpass those feeble first attempts. I think venturous should post some more video's. His tutorials helped me the most out of all the ones i could find and are the whole foundation of my duel wielding prowess.
I'm still blown away at your reverse obi - ani technique Cephalus. I'd learned how to do the obi ani previously but only that one move. You've truly shown the versatility of your skills and of that technique. I love how your combine it into many different single and duel wielding variations that i couldn't even think of. I think you've earned some force points sir despite raging with envy right now. Even the half spins, flips and hand roll techniques you've been working on are leveling up fast. Think i've neglected my single sabering skills over duel wielding and my duel wielding development is suffering. I think Your single blade moves are helping you expand on more moves faster.
Anyways. I've been working on a few new moves but i'm waiting for my saber to finish being repaired to restart my training. Need to learn your half spin technique and see if  can do it duel wielding while spinning after i've polished up my single lightsaber.
May the force serve you needs.

Can't wait to see those new movies CH3M15T. In response to your comment, yes, I think having a wide focus has helped me progress. I try something with single saber and think, "can I do that with a staff or in duel wield?" and vice versa. I find that single saber lets me experiment with technique, staff with momentum, and dual wield with muscle memory. I can't speak much to the martial training element as single saber is my go to for martial application, but as a spinner/tricker/juggler, I can say that I think switching weapons often has allowed me to view each in a more fluid and evolving way, which has (i think) aided my progress so far. I also agree about how helpful venturous's videos have been;  I am sorry I did not find him sooner as it would have saved a lot of time and aggravation while learning the single saber, as it did with the double. By the way, I still don't know what kind of force points to give you. Your current total is light side, but which do you prefer? I have to say, I am tempted to try to pull you over into the dark.

I'm glad others have benefited from my videos. I would gladly post more, but unfortunately I'm at a lack of things to post about lol. My YouTube videos contain information on all the moves I know with all three styles of saber weapons. The things I never did videos on are things that I never learned and honestly don't care to learn, such as aerials, hand rolls, acrobatics with the weapons, body rolls, etc. I find them interesting sure, but I never cared to learn them really. I think Cephalus has those down pretty well now enough to teach anyway, which goes back to combining our knowledge.

One thing I do enjoy doing is seeing a particular move, breaking it apart, and learning how it is done and how to do it myself. If there is some particular move any of you are trying to learn, but don't know how to do yet, send me a video of it (if you have one) and I'll pick it apart and learn it to the point where I can teach it. That's really the approach I took with my other videos, so I'd say I have the process down pretty well now. At one point I thought about getting into the combative aspects of the three weapon types, but I think the TPLA has covered that well enough so far.

Keep up the solid practice and keep posting videos of your progress, because we all enjoy seeing the development of skills here.

Yeah do it. I'm like a renegade grey. So almost balanced with the force but leaning towards sith anyways. lol
Just got my saber back from being repaired. £24 :S ... oh well good as new and i'm pleased now. So i'll have 2 possibly 3 videos to post. ones where i've learned some of your moves Cephalus. polished up the reverse obi's. picked up some hand rolls(ish). Might still need to work on that. And a simple duel wielding technique that came to me the other day which is rather straight forward. I'll get working on them this afternoon.

the parallel bladework is coming along nicely. That is the basic Idea that led me to the hybrid dual obi/ani but I did not think to apply it to a figure 8. Point for that. Speaking of, consider yourself redeemed and welcome to the dark side. You will find the cookies in the lobby.

So this is the end result of my most recent work. Here is my tutorial video on the dual wield application of the inverted obi/ani. In all, it covers 8 variations. As the video states, timing is all in the shoulders. Next step:reverse grip.

Greetings everyone!

Just thought I'd share my latest practice. It's not spinning, but then Makashi is my current focus!

As for that remix, I'm not sure, I just found it online.

Working off of one of CH3M15T's experiments, here is a flip obi/ani along with a couple other things I have been working on.
