I have started talking to a costume designer that works for the same company I do about making this costume a reality. Picture any whites as gray and any grays as black. Boots and belts may stay brown or go black. Thoughts?

Points towards neutral are greatly appreciated.

I actually think that the white/gray setup you have in the picture would be a lot more striking.

Yes, great concept!, For the belt , you could get away with a long leather medieval fencer's belt, (they have ones that are very long & do multiple wraps)

Someone has to say it: Jedi Master Sokka.

Moving on... I think it's a great look, and either color scheme would be awesome, though I too prefer it as shown.

Yeah I had thought the same thing but also thought the white may have been a bit too light side for my purposes. Kinda going for the "True Neutral" to "Chaotic Neutral" kind of character. (Basically a former Jedi turned mercenary...)

Awesome costume idea right there. I'm reminded a little of the assassins's creed outfits.

Reminds me of the "adventurer's robe" from TFU:

I presume you at least got the spark from this concept.  Regardless, it'll look great I think!  Although if you do decide to go with grey and black as a color scheme, I'd lose the brown... but that's just my fashion neurosis coming out lol

I have actually never played TFU. *ducks any flying objects*

I got the image I am using by doing an image search for "Jedi Mercenary". It was apparently meant to be as it just jumped out and grabbed me from the fourth page. I do see the obvious similarities and am guessing that the original artist got his inspiration from TFU.

And I am fashion challenged so you can blame that on my lack of issue pairing brown boots with black/gray clothing.

Thanks for the feedback!

No problem!

And don't worry about being fashionably challenged... Luke was too.  He even wore a brown cloak over a black outfit (yuck!)

Oh the horror...

I think I like the look of the brown boots/belts enough to stick with the white, even if it is a bit more light side...

True. And yet it is hard to deny that people are very often judged by their look well before their aspect becomes known.

I must admit, though, that reading all of the responses here I am definitely leaning more towards keeping the colors as is. You all make valid points.
