Just a thought but what if you did the white parts in black leather and leave the rest of it exactly as it is.

The Jedi are simple minded fools who try to avoid there feeling when feelings are the path of true power. The Sith on the other hand are just as foolish in only using anger to fuel there power. To unlock true power one must utilize all of one's emotions.

I could do that and keep the Brown boots/belt just to drive Master Nero to the brink of insanity...

It's a thought but I am really not feeling any more leather than the boots and belts. Thanks for the suggestion! At this point I am definitely leaning towards just keeping it exactly as is for the first run and then possibly adding a black cloak at some point in place of the white one. Just to have options.

No problem!

And don't worry about being fashionably challenged... Luke was too.  He even wore a brown cloak over a black outfit (yuck!)

Oh the horror...

Hey! I wear brown over black. So do they.

I'll take some of that horror!

All that photo line up shows is that pretty girls can make anything look  good.

Brown and black is a poo combo in most cases...unless you are an orc or a villain.

I would go with the colors presented on your pic...if you look like a nice guy and act bad it is easier to get by than looking like a bad guy and acting nice.

But seriously,

Really, it's up to you. Do what ever colors you feel look best to you. you are the one who needs to wear it. What you have looks good. It's all subjective anyway.

Post pic when you get it together.

Really?  The picture of the four models is from a discussion page dealing with the challenge of wearing brown and black together, as it is generally accepted that true brown and black are non-complimenting...the article goes on to say "why not".

Quite true.

Why not?

But the idea holds true that super models, beautiful actors/actresses, etc. can pull off fashion that most of us would languish with...pretty people usually look good even in comical fashion.

http://www.collegefashion.net/fashion-tips/fashion-challenge-wear-black-and-brown-together/

The basic issue here is would the design of the thread starter benefit from a color scheme change...the design as shown would in my opinion become muted and drab with the light draining aspect of black/brown...against a white background it would pop but nearly any other it would be subdued.

The design is clean and fairly dramatic with good detail lines throughout...it is my opinion that these aspects would be lost with a dark combo.  The design as drawn with the white accents make the whole stand out to my eye.

As the article notes, it is advisable to choose other neutral hues such as camel or taupe rather than basic brown.

But it is just a costume...best of luck and success with your costume project either way, I am sure it will look nice no matter what combo you choose.

Going to show my ignorance here but I am missing the "Jedi Master Sokka" reference. Is this from one of the games or later written fiction?

Nope just that the guy in that picture looks like an older version of Sokka from Avatar the Last Airbender (the TV show not the crappy movie)
