Is there any style that would incorporate a gun/blaster in the mix?
Having a long range option along with close range would be nice for me

you know i was thinking about this same thing today so i grabbed this old portuguese musket toy i had (YEAH GO PORTUGAL!) the musket looks really like a long rifle from star wars. but i had my rifle in one hand and the saber in the other, i held the rifle in ready position with the saber in a defense position. and i have to say it felt very comfortable. but anyway your probably talking about blaster pistols but i could guess it would be even better than a rifle.

I would chalk it under a Jar'Kai variant. If we were classifying.

hmm i would think it would fall under makashi because its a one handed grip.

That's the exact style I would consider to be the least sensible to put it in.... every other style can use a one-handed grip anyways.

I would simply label it a Jar'Kai variant.

it wouldn't necessarily be a variant but more of a style of its own

Agreed with Jar'kai, in that you're using both hands in the style. There really is no variant that uses a long range weapon like a blaster/gun.

I'd love to see it.

I personally do not believe that a Jedi should ever carry any sort of blaster. To me, it just sort of takes away from the persona of what the Jedi embody...

Lol tell that to the grey paladins, a subsect of the Jedi that forgo lightsabers unfavorable of other weapons. Some of them can shoot incoming blaster bolts.

Grays, Rogues, Shadows, Dark Jedi. I'd actually argue against the Sith, as I think the consensus of lightsaber combat for them is the "Purity of Combat"

For my character... it's more of a use what works type thing.

Anyways, back on topic, I believe it falls under a Jar'Kai variant because you are utilizing a second weapon in the off hand, and it can be paired with any style really. Not to mention if you have ever utilized an airsoft gun and a lightsaber. "I don't recommend it" There is a certain skill set you need to remember that you have another weapon in your hand which Jar'Kai develops.

Though movie/TV wise, I hate how almost every Jar'Kai practitioner utilizes a paired type combat style.... Doesn't maximize the whole, I've got two weapons advantage. If you're striking at the same target zone with both weapons, you might as well just use one.

yeah, with paired weapons, where they really become incredible is when you get to the point that both hands can act completely independantly, but it takes years to get it to that point, and is much more difficult to do with longer bladed weapons
