Alright, the next stage: Here are pics of the Frankenstick and Bride with their new pommels. Frankenstick is now outfitted with a Guardian pommel and the Bride is not capped with a dark shock pommel.

I will post a more detailed description later but I have to say I love the addition of the Dark Shock to the Overlord body. It give the etra length and it looks like a million bucks. Very sleek. And it feels awesome. The balance the weildablity, everything is improved.

The guardian pummel was a little disappointing in that it was lighter than I had anticipated. Also, the gear teeth are going to need some getting used to. I am playing with some future mods, but the looks is pretty cool. I love that DA hilt. It also has a 40 inch blade so it is a beast!

more to come.

thanks!

I'm actually used to a larger weapon in my longsword practice so the 40 is great!. I had to weight the guardian pommel a bit to get the balance right but once I got it, ZOOM!

The Guardian pommel is always a good choice for adding a ton of style to a saber.  That said, I actually really like the Dark Shock pommel on the Overlord... it looks like it belongs on it for some reason.

That 40" looks monstrous, I definitely need to get my hands on one  Grin

I agree! I put it on and just sighed and said to myself "That's one fine looking lightsaber!" It really does just make that hilt amazing. It adds like 2" to the end totally freeing up the cramped feeling, which was one of my complaints about the overlord hilt. It's like the perfect length now, it has crazy nice balance and it looks like a million bucks. I couldn't be happier.

I fall in love with these Ultrasabers over and over again!

I'm thinking a 40" in that consular hilt would look awesome! Of all the 'replica' hilts, that is by far my favorite. I think we are about the same height (6'2") and I can tell you sometimes with the Frankenstick, it can feel like cheating there is so much reach with that thing!

The Consular looks really awesome with an Overlord emitter. Grin

I've been toying with the idea of getting a new pommel for my Overlord, but the balance is just so perfect. It is literally on the very tip of the emitter. Add anything else to the hilt and the balance is going to be off. Also I can't find any pommels that strike my fancy and I find the Overlord to be long enough as it is.

Awesome sabers though!

Point of balance is a personal preference of course, but I like my balance point about 5 fingers or so up the blade. The addition of the DS pommel did not appreciably change the POB from what I can tell from it's handling. I am a big guy and need some extra space on the handle.

Obviously, if it aint broke, don't fix it. You sound like the original Overlord is just right for you.

It really does look nice doesn't it? It feels incredibly nice in the hands as well. The added length for me was just perfect and make the hilt handle like a dream. I highly recommend it.
I know you just put sound in yours, the DS pommel may give you a bit of a resonance chamber. I don't know how those soundboards fit though.

The final alterations are complete! The Frankenstick and Bride are done (for now).

FS: Dark arbiter body, Dark war Glaive emitter with silver claws, last half of a Guardian pommel, and a blank from TCSS, lightly machined with grooves, Covertec nob.

BF: Overlod body, Consular emitter, Dark shock pommmel.

Nice handling.

Excellent customizations, the DWG claws really fit the Frankenstick.  I like the Consular emitter on the Bride too, but that just might be my love of the Consular coming out.

Plus you have my two favorite saber colors there, so you automatically earn a point Wink

I love the Consular emitter. I just have to get a screw that will go flush and it's set.

The Frankenstick has turned out pretty awesome, if I do say so myself. It feels so good inthe hand, the choke is just right and the balance is unbelievable. It is far faster than it's enormous size would suggest.

Yeah, I'm always surprised at how light everyone says the Arbiter line is.  I mean the materials look lightweight, but that sucker is pretty long... I'm gonna have to get one eventually lol
