Proof positive to me that the Prophecy is likely to be the next addition to my arsenal. I am more appreciative of the design each time a see a review of it. I am also now convinced (thanks to this review) that I need to get it with a mid-grade blade, to get the maximum brightness out of the LED, which will likely be AB. I have three other sabers with Heavy Grade blades for use in dueling, so getting one that I can put on any one of them to better highlight the gorgeous colors on each of them, takes a good thing, and makes it great!
I think I prefer the mid-grade. I nothing else than when not lit, there is more focus on the hilt alone. An ultraedge looks like a white plastic tube sticking out of the hilt (which is, of course, exactly what it is, but it is not so obvious when the tube is transparent). Also, when using the saber in slight darkness, a mid-grade is difficult to see, thereby producing a better illusion of a lightsaber.
I have heard many argue to the advantage of the ultraedge that the mid-grade has a light-in-tube-effect. Well, the ultraedge has a lighting-tube-effect. In daylight, the mid-grade can look like light trapped in a tube, as you can clearly see the polycarbonate blade. The ultraedge, in my opinion, doesn't look much better. The white of the polycarbonate is clearly visible, with a hint of color overlayed. In medium light, the ultraedge may look slightly better. Especially if you prefer a fuller blade. In darkness it looks good either way =)
My recommendations are: If you duel in the dark and display your sabers with blade attached, go with the mid-grade, and if you use your sabers indoors with some lights and display your hilts only, go with the ultraedge. If you do something else, make up your own mind =)
