My first ever Grab Bag saber; an Aeon that I'm in the process of customizing....



The ring on the end is the future home of a red ribbon... Shaolin style!
Like an idiot, I put a momentary switch on it, and it's just a basic model, no sound or effects, but I love the button, so the next bit of money I get is going into another obsidian board, and a FOC LED module (yay!)
The catch is that this hilt is NOT MLS compatible, so I'll have to come up with a sneaky way to fit the speaker in there.
When I'm done with this bad boy, you won't even recognize it... yea, it'll probably look that bad. :p

Excellent, I love the ring & red ribbon idea. Definitely unique.
The V2 size, while not MHS-compatable, is comfortable to hold and I think looks better for smaller sabers like Initiates. Great job

Very nice mods!  I believe the Obsidian board will be to wide for the V2 as it is 1" (25mm) Wide. And the V2 handle is milled down below that. You might want to consider other options for sound. But I probably will now add a switch box to one of my Dominix  V2s.

Vex, I just measured an obsidian board that's in a fully custom hilt that I just finished, and it's 1.0 inches at its widest point, (outer edge of the USB port, to the opposite edge of the board.) The inner diameter of the Aeon hilt is 1.13 inches, so I'll have a wee bit of wiggle room. I just won't be able to mount it on a battery pack for convenience. But it's a long hilt, so I think I'll be ok.
Thanks for bringing that up, it would have sucked to have ordered the guts, only to have them not fit.

I'd check the diameter of the speaker too. That fits pretty snug in a v3 hilt so I don't think it's gonna work in a v2. There have to be other options out there for a smaller speaker though. Just have to look.

The shopping cart doesn't list any V2 sabers in the 'sabers with sound' section, but does list them in the single blade sabers section. I think they'd list all sabers in the with sound section if it was possible to fit Obsidian sound in the hilts.

Then again it sounds like you've done your homework and have some experience with customising. Probably still worth emailing Emory though.

I've thought about that, and I have a bare speaker coming in for one of my other custom MLS sabers, so I'll be able to check it. I also have a lathe, so I can turn out the diameter a little if need be. If not, I think there are some oval speakers that are less than an inch crossways that I can side-mount in there in a punch. Thanks, man.

By the Force! I received my Consular and Aeon LE today (which are both awesome BTW), but take a look at this modified Shock LE I received as my free grab bag saber!

Does anyone recognise the emitter? It looks a bit like an Overlord from what I can tell, (but without the windows).

It also has a totally awesome looking ring of holes at the end of the emitter, though they don't actually let any light out.







I really appreciate that US met my request to place the recharge port for my Consular on the front so as not to interfere with the shroud removal.

I'm so freaking happy right now...

Not an Overlord emitter at all. Looks like something completely new. Remember the one new clawed emitter the one guy got in a Grab Bag as well? (Sorry that I forget your name.) x.x Maybe its a promo part or something or maybe an Arbiter emitter as well. But the bottom section is too rounded for an Arbiter emitter. Nice Grab Bag get either way though. =]

That's a Arbiter emitter, I just compared it to my dark Arbiter and its a match. I'm going to swap my dark Arbiter emitter with my dark Shock now and see what they look like, yours looks like a good combo.

Awesome grab Brian! That's definitely an Arbiter emitter though. It actually looks really nice on it. I may have considered that for mine if I didn't have another kind on order!

DUDE!!!!!!  That's the emitter I got with my raffle prize but I am really digging that red. I really can't wait to see what they are working on for that emitter. I think that once, if a new saber comes out with that emitter exclusive to it I'll order one, and I'd love a guardian as well. Ok well I'd love most of the sabers but I can't afford all of them. But still, each time I see that I like it more and more. It's definitely my favorite of all my sabers. It looks great on yours, I got it on a consular.

Wow. That's... impressive. xD The only parts I can name is the pommel: Bellicose short groove. The other parts look new/unnamed.
