The new writer was excellent. SiP replaced RoH pt. 1 as my second favorite episode (favorite is LE, of course).

Tomorrow will be a great day for AJ/Spike shippers....

Has anypony ever seen the plots/morals of the show reflected in your own life? I had a Fall Weather Friends experience just a bit ago.

So I have a lot of relatives at my house for Christmas and me, my cousin Erik, (whom I should mention is a lot like Rainbow Dash) and some of my other cousins decided to play a friendly game of Wii Golf. So a little bit of trash-talking turned into a lot of trash talking, especially after Erik tried a tough shot and missed... like five times lol. After that hole, I was in the lead, and he was dead last. Things escalated, and on the fourth hole, when my cousin David had to leave the room to put his 6 month old son to bed and I swung for him, Erik actually pushed me while I was taking a practice swing. I missed that shot (not due to his shoving me), and when David came back into the room, Erik told him that I had deliberately botched the shot (not true). So on the next hole, I made sure to push him while he was taking his swing, which started a tussle over the Wii remote. That hole was Par 5. I got 8; Erik got 9. I turned to him with a smug look on my face and said, "Well, at least I'm still ahead of you." After that, my shots started degrading, no one had any fun, and it was only by the grace of the Wii spontaneously quitting that the night didn't get any worse.

So anypony else have a story they want to share?

Before I even remember I somehow met my best friend ever, who is a few years older than I. I'll have to ask my parents about that at some point now that we're on good terms again. Anyway, she and I did everything together - shopping, playing tennis (I guess that's probably where I met her...), eating... heck, we even busted a few bullies who were picking on some younger kids.

Fast forward a few years, I realized how much more recognition and attention my friend was getting - and how much better her family was than mine. I tried to pretend nothing had changed, but I guess I was a bad actor at the time because people started describing me as "angry" and "sullen", which is definitely not how I would want to be viewed. My jealousy led me to drift farther and farther away from my friend and, fairly soon, all my friends. She eventually asked me about it and I snapped, which pretty much finished the drifting apart business. I became depressed and a bit antisocial.

Fast forward again to not that long ago (but not that recently), I'd made some new friends and gotten a little less angry/depressed. One night I couldn't sleep, so inevitably my mind wandered through every regret I'd ever had (yeah, screw you brain) which, of course, led me back to my old friend. I physically felt the shame from that whole ordeal, which sucked, and I called her to apologize. She actually answered fairly quickly, despite the time, and we talked until the sun rose that morning. She forgave me, reassured me, and generally set me back on my two feet/four hooves. We are now dating and as dynamic a duo as ever and I have slowly been able to regain positive relationships with all of my other old friends

And yes, that whole situation is what made me become a brony after watching FiM pts. 1 and 2 because Luna's life reminded me so much of my own. It is also why I identify with Luna so much.

For 1), I would have to say Twilight's fit of rage in FPK.

For 2), it would have to be Applejack's fear of Luna in LE (right before she tells her how to have fun). For the others it makes sense, but Applejack? That just felt out of character for her.

So I need some help. I'm trying to make a PMV to "Defying Gravity"- it's supposed to showcase Luna's transformation into Nightmare Moon but I don't know what to put at the beginning of the song.

Holy kriff what is going on there?

Whoa whoa whoa - have you not seen SiP (Sleepless in Ponyville)? But... but... watch it. Just... watch it. A long-prophesied Rainbow Dash/Scootaloo episode in which Luna gets to be a darker version of Celestia. Seriously. That's how brilliant it was. Oh, and it was by a new writer, which was awesome. All of the fandom loves it, which is quite rare.

That is one of few episodes that I do not enjoy rewatching... unless I'm watching through all of S2 I avoid it.

I'm guessing you're at least as excited as I am for Discord's return, then?
