Don't bother with the comments, they're all stupid as far as I can tell (for example - one guy thinks that the only evidence for Princess Twilight is the fake Hasbro employee post about the removal of Derpy).
I don't care either way. I'm excited to see how it goes, regardless of the fandom's outrage. I just might have to avoid MLP sites until then to prevent the further rustling of my jimmies.

On another topic, I am at a loss as to what to do for my fanfic. I'll just air out all my ideas here.
It'll be in three parts so I can stop after the first part if it's too miserable.
Canterlot will leave its mountain perch (for teh lulz).
Either Sombra or Chrysalis will feature as the Big Bad, but all antagonists will at least have a cameo. Again, for teh lulz.
Twilight will don the Alicorn Amulet regardless of what happens in the finale. Twilight with red wigglies beside her eyes would be awesome.
There will be no OCs.
There will be absolutely no inappropriate content because ew.
Somepony will die, but not everypony.
Somepony will end up on the moon because that's only fair.
Yeah, I'm fairly sure this will be a painful experience.
