Top 10 favorite/least favorite episodes? (I'll post mine ASAP).

Least favorites.

10. A Canterlot Wedding - Part 1

I know, it seems odd to put it on here.

But only when you consider what came after it.

Aside from Twilight, the Mane 6 were all remarkably ignorant and out of character (they didn't really have much character at all for the last two thirds or so of the episode). The setup sounds like a badfic (completely unheard of brother out of nowhere!) and Cadance's reveal left a lot to be desired (Chrysalis in Cadance form, that is).

9. One Bad Apple

Boring. Just... boring. Surrounded by good/great episodes, it really stuck out like a mutilated thumb. The moral sucked as well. Accept the bully who's related to you and has a sob story, but bully the other bullies.

Plus that last line from Babs still hurts to think about.

8. Spike at Your Service

It would have been much better if they had used Rarity instead of AJ like they originally intended. The inconsistency of Spike's abilities was terrible and reminded me of the when the CMC destroyed everything they touched.

7. Look Before You Sleep

WTF?

Seriously, WTF?

Probably the most out of character writing for AJ since... since... G1? I don't know, but it was bad.

6. The Cutie Pox

So... weird. Some of the Cutie Marks were just out of place, and the condition itself was inconsistent.

Yes, it's a cartoon, but one that has a pretty high standard when it comes to stuff like that.

Now we're into the only-watch-during-marathons zone.

5. Dragon Quest

How are there teenage dragons? When Spike was at that size, he wasn't exactly communicative.

Annoying voices, boring, predictable plot.

Merriwether.

4. Call of the Cutie

I didn't enjoy the CMC until S3 because of how annoying this episode was.

I don't know exactly why, but I hate it.

3. Hearts and Hooves Day

I absolutely love Cheerilee and was very excited that she was going to play a major role in an episode.

I could not have been more disappointed.

There is no excuse for how stupid it is all around. Watching it feels like reading badfic. Fortunately it didn't have any impact on continuity (except for that one part where Cheerilee and Big Mac are seen walking together, but that's not even an obscure reference unless you read way too much into it).

2. Owl's Well That Ends Well

Aside from the title and Spike's costume, there's nothing good about this episode. Spike is, once again, written as a spoiled toddler. Twilight was terribly insensitive. The whole situation should've been resolved within seconds, before they even went to the picnic. Hell, there shouldn't have even been a "situation" in the first place.

Spike: "Hey Twilight...."

Twilight: "What is it?"

Spike: "I burned your book by accident."

Twilight: "Oh well, I can get a new copy."

1. Feeling Pinkie Keen

NO. Just... no. I have too many issues with this episode to list, but the main problem is the anti-science message... can't disprove something? Better believe in it!

Moving on to favorites!

10. The Ticket Master

A lot of people complain about this episode because it's only the third episode in the series and the Mane 6 are already divided over something, but I love it. When I first watched it after seeing Friendship is Magic, it felt like I was already well acquainted with the characters. That, and it's part of the only season-spanning story arc of the show so far.

9. Party of One

Laughs, feels, manly tears, more laughs. I honestly can't see any way to make this episode any better than it is.

8. The Cutie Mark Chronicles

Yay for continuity!

Huzzah for backstory!

Great writing, I didn't even mind the CMC in it back when I despised them.

7. The Mysterious Mare Do Well

Its out of character writing, predictable plot, and a bad moral have made it the single most hated episode among the fandom.

But seeing five of the Mane 6 in kick-ass superheroine costumes made up for all of it, and I was mad at RD the first time I saw it (I don't remember why, but it made me view the episode in a much more positive light).

The butthurt is fuel for my adoration.

It's only recently become one of my favorites, but I never really disliked as much as most others seem to (hence the avatar).

6. Secret of my Excess

Semi-shipping done RIGHT. I actually teared up a little at the end. I freaking love it. I watched it again right after finishing it the first time.

5. A Canterlot Wedding - Part 2

Made up for Part 1 and then some. Sunbutt getting her flank kicked in a badass fight scene? Hell yes.

Cadance became awesome.

I even had a head-banging cameo or two.

Oh yeah, and there's This Day Aria, which remains my favorite song in the series.

4. Magical Mystery Cure

So many feels....

All the songs were great. Sunbutt finally sang and it was magnificent. There were so many references to previous episodes, I lost track halfway through. Yeah, the surface reason for her coronation was pretty lame, but the real reason was obviously indicated during - and by - Celestia's song.

I honestly think it would have made a perfect series finale.

I couldn't decide between these next two, so I did the lazy thing and put them both in.

T3. The Crystal Empire - Part 2

Many complained about it, but I thought it was nearly perfect, with the best parts more than balancing out the weak points. Sombra kicked plot, despite his very brief appearances, and Spike finally got a moment of glory.

Plus, dat foreshadowing....

T3. The Return of Harmony Part 2

Part 1 was above average.

Part 2 turned the average into a sickly frog.

Discord's awesomeness is untarnished by his recent redemption because of how fantastic this episode is.

2. Sleepless in Ponyville

This episode is so amazing, it turned my cat into a dog when it first aired.

I have never enjoyed an episode of any show as much as I enjoyed Sleepless in Ponyville. Except for #1, of course. Regardless, the writing was superb and I really stole the show. The dream sequences were perfect and Scootaloo's relationship with RD was beyond well done.

1. Luna Eclipsed

Do I really need to explain?

My.... I mean, Luna's new appearance was so superb, not even the fandom whined. The other holiday episodes (Hearts and Hooves Day, Hearth's Warming Eve) didn't do anything for me (especially not the former), but Nightmare Night was more awesome than I could have ever expected. I hope it's featured again at some point.

Beyond that, it's probably the best writing I've ever seen in a cartoon.

I love that song. Brohoof. I wish Celestia's voice had ended up being a little more like that in the actual show, but it was still great.

The writers did a great job with Winona's ascension to alicornhood. The transformation scene was touching.

Celestia's death was way overdone, but Starswirl's appearance made up for that.

Giving AJ a horn was weird. Still no explanation for that. Unicorn master race?

Having Discord end up being Pinkie was predictable. Should've been Dashie.

Fluttershy joining the Wonderbolts was awesome.

Having the Door as a season-spanning villain has been pure genius.

Introducing a human to Equestria may or may not have been a jumping the shark moment, but we'll see.

The flashback episode is going to be amazing, as long as Sombra has a few lines.
