I think if there was a zombie apocalypse, I'd want an AA12 around. Something that just plain doesn't leave much behind when it's done. Saw it in a documentary once and nearly peed myself it was so cool.
Problem is that it eats ammo like nobody's business. 300 rounds per minute means that the 32 round drum goes in a little over 6 seconds, the 20 round drum goes in 4 seconds, and the 10 round box mag goes in 2 seconds. Awesome, but it's almost a waste against anything but a horde of Zeds. You're better off plinking them with headshots at greater range with more ammo carried. If you want a shotgun, a pump action is better. It's not automatic, but you get better shot placement, which counts when the enemy outnumbers you by hundreds of thousands (if not millions) to one, and they all want to eat you.

I think that Kel Tec would be an excellent Z-Poc weapon.

Based on what I've read about it, yeah. Well designed, ambidextrous, low recoil. The only downsides I've heard of are that the slide is kinda fat with two tubes, making the foregrip accessory almost a necessity, and that sometimes, depending on the grip, the ejecting shell can hit your forearm. That last one isn't so bad, but it does sting, especially after repeated strikes. Perhaps forearm guards are in order, like archers use.

I may get crucified for this, but I'll take Imperial Cadre power armor (with Cadre enhancements) over Mando armor ANY day of the week. Heck, I'll just take the Cadre enhancements. Forget the armor.

Any suggestions for a good, inexpensive shot gun?

Benelli has some decent 12 gauge shotguns for 500 and under. Mossberg has some killer shotguns, maybe a little more than your price range, but well worth the extra cash. Remington makes a good shotty and has plenty around your price range.

Next question. What's the difference between pump action and break action?
And I should mention, the main use will likely be turkey hunting.

Pump action uses a forward slide to draw a shell into the chamber. Break action uses a pivot point at the chamber to lean the barrel(s) forward, allowing the user to place new shells into the barrel/chamber.

Break action means the barrel "breaks away" meaning you hit a lever and the chamber opens ejecting the spent cartridges. A pump action as it suggests you pump to chamber and eject rounds.

That's what I thought. Thanks guys. The main use for this(if I even get it) would be turkey hunting. I imagine it would make little difference what action.

Go for the pump action... you'll get far more versatility with it, and it's still low cost. Not to mention highly reliable.
