Go for the pump action... you'll get far more versatility with it, and it's still low cost. Not to mention highly reliable.
You seem to know a lot more than I do, so if you say pump action I think I'll get a pump action!

Break-action looks cooler though

Any suggestions for a good, inexpensive shot gun?
Mossberg 500 series. For three to four bills you can actually get something pretty cool.

I second this. Great choice for an intro shotgun - my first and second shotguns were pump action, and it's always served me well. It's funny, because I got so used to using one that when I tried to use my dad's automatic it was really strange to me... Oh, and thanks for the feedback on Sigs. I figured they must be good (since so many law enforcement and military groups use them), but I was just curious to see what you guys thought. When I do get around to buying a handgun finally it'll very likely be a Sig.

I actually was looking at that one. It's the cheapest so far with the camo finish(probably useful for turkey hunting). My next, and hopefully final question, what gauge is best for a turkey hunting gun?

I've personally never gone turkey hunting, but most hunters I know and have worked with use 12 gauge. It seems to be the most common.

Ya, 12 gauge is the most common, and great for turkey hunting, or deer hunting, or any kind of hunting you want to do... Very versatile, and also great for home protection... The sheer intimidation factor of a shotgun racking a round into it's chamber is enough to make most baddies go home and rethink their lives.

Just make sure not to use a slug since it would obliterate the turkey...

If you hit the turkey juuuust right with a slug, it takes away the need for removing the innards...

Ever pop cinder blocks with higher powered weapons? It is way fun. I've taken 20 gauge slugs, 8mm Mauser, 7.62 Nato, and 7.62x54 Russian to blocks so far and they've all been rather amusing...

I found the damage a 44 can do to an old dish washer quite satisfying, though I think the most fun I've seen in my limited experience is still a glass bottle neck. *ping* and there's nothing but some shiny dust.

I know nothing about shotguns, but I like the Benelli. Not just cause I'm Italian, but because I hate checkered grips. Among other reasons. lol

if youre going to use the shotgun for hunting turkey you would want the 12 guage or you might consider a 10 guage. make sure you get different chokes for whatever you plan on hunting. for turkeys you are going to want a tight pattern so i would recomend full choke.

This is the Rhino: 'Tis a .357 mag with an unusual barrel configuration. Thoughts?
