I have never done a Star Wars costume before, I normally stick with Shadowrun, but since I managed to get myself addicted to Ultrasabers I figured I should go for it. I normally tend to stick to costumes that are regular club clothes with extras added so I get more use out of them. I have a base outfit that I like, but it doesn't seem Star Wars enough to me. Any advice or suggestions would be much appreciated.

I also have this

I do have lekku coming that I ordered from Pam, but other then that just feel kind of lost and slightly embarrassed to be asking strangers for advice on this.

honestly its a pretty decent costume, what colour are the lekku, because the costume almost feels to me like it would be a great darkside variant of aayla secura, if she fell to the darkside

I have to paint them myself. I was thinking of doing a light turquoise. And thank you.

Yeah it definitely seems like a Twilek style outfit to me, but it could probably be used for a number of Sith costumes really.  There actually is a darkside Twilek named Alema Rar, and I'd imagine her outfit to look something like this.

It's very badass though, and that's a very unique looking saber... Dark Shock in Sunriders Destiny?

I'm actually feeling a lot  better about this outfit now. Thank you =) Do you prefer the shoulder guard or the shrug? I've gotten mixed responses on that from my friends. And yep that is exactly what that saber is. That was the first one I got earlier this year. I'm up to three now as my friend just got me one for my birthday. Still wish I had money for more though.

I personally prefer the shoulder guard, though I can't say exactly why.  I think it just has more of a Star Wars look to it, gives a Sithy sort of rakish style, whereas the shrug seems more like something you'd see in a club in the real world.  They're both good though!

Looks very nice, and I will echo my master's sentiments on the shoulder guard. It works very well, and I think coupled with the lekku in the color you mentioned it would look great. Particularly with the saber color. I have one suggestion, though most people aren't into it and if you wish to recycle the guard for other costumes you may not want to try this but I've always loved personalizing my costumes, Particularly my armor, with a painted insignia. Adds a bit of extra detail. Smiley

I agree with all said above.  And here is a link to a picture of Alora, a dark Jedi in the Jedi Academy game, which is what this costume (combined with the lekku) reminds me of:

If you're going for a Jedi costume, it could definitely work for a Maris Brood type costume. I know she fell to the dark side, but she started out as a Jedi lol

I think the shoulder guard looks best, but I suggest you get some long sleeve gloves/gauntlets to tie the look together. Much like the dark jedi in the picture nightwing posted.  Cool

You know, that's a cool idea with the long gloves. I'd suggest getting one long glove though, and just wearing it on the arm opposite the shoulder guard. But that's just me.

I'd say the shrug with one shoulder guard actually, I think it would look good.

i agree, the one shoulder guard is pretty sweet, and long gloves would go well. maybe some sort of chain wrap or something similiar around the actual waist.

my GF actually just bought some long gloves for our halloween pair. we got them from here:

More thinking the shrug, with the shoulder Armour on the non saber arm. Perhaps some shin guards modeled in some crafting foam. And perhaps a saber belt with a Dropleg gunslingers rig for a blaster too? The costume pretty much says she's supposed to be a badass. A blaster has its uses. I'm thinking like sonethibg really heavy duty. Make it look like a sawed of e-11 rifle.
