So, Kham is watching Korra for the first time. I am waiting impatiently for Season Two, which doesn't start till next year. I also want the DVDs to come out already, though I suppose that won't be for awhile yet either.

You know, when my and my bro were watching the first show.... we came to the conclusion that he would be a water bender, and I would either be an earth bender, or Sokka's clone. Within the first couple episodes of Korra, we decided I was Mako and he was Bolin. lol The more I watch, the more I love Firebending. It really helps to see it associated with a good guy, besides the reformed Zuko. Reformed Zuko is awesome, but Mako doesn't have the whiny Anakin moments that Zuko had in Book One. lol

Loves me some Avatar Airbender...TV show...the movie...well that is a completely different matter entirely.

The new series is a spectacular next step...and that is saying something...the first series was complete, so the next shop had to do something special and in my opinion, it has...in spades.

So the season finale was as Manny said, EPIC.

The whole season was well enjoyed.

I love the new setting, turn of the century stuff is something I really enjoy; Art Deco, Art Nouveau.

I'd have to say I'd like to Earth bend, then metal; I want to be a spider-man.

Anyway you would be able to control Magnetism?

No

Most Earth benders can not metal bend, rare talent.

I think the magnetism would be right out...maybe the Avatar could pull something along these lines, especially an Earth bender Avatar.

I recently acquired a little orange kitten who I named "Pabu" and a brown and tan one that I named "Nyla" (props to the first one to recognize Nyla)

My Nyla is a girl, only because when I named her I did not realize that the original Nyla was a boy (oops).
Its funny though, because my Nyla is a little hunter, and my Pabu is a little fatty who eats any food he can find.  They are really living up to their names.

Now the burning question...considering the new setting...which would you rather have as a foundation for a character?

1. basic elemental bending...fire, earth, air, water...full range of base element abilities (no lightning, metal bending, etc.)

2. alternative elemental bending...a focused aspect to the baseline...a very limited base element ability plus a unique talent like metal bending, lightning, etc. (the idea is that the unique talent took up all your training time so the basics fell to the wayside)

3. technological ability...the machines, batteries, stun batons, etc. used by mundanes to deal with benders...this does not mean you are a bad guy (as per the show), just have access to the equipment and training with the same

4. (this is a home brew from an RPG I was working on, thrown in here just for grins)  beast master...has unique talent for locating, training, handling, communicating, etc. with animals...there are two types within this group...the general and the focus...ability to manage all animals with some measure or absolute connection with one type (near empathic/telepathic connection)

I'd go with straight Earth bending then.

It's applications seem more wide range.
