I've easily encountered over 20 people in my front yard playing with my ultrasabers.

Here is a video of one such encounter:

I rarely get to spar with anyone. I handed him a saber and we went at it. My batteries came loose twice in a row unfortunately. Anyone have some good tips? I was thinking tape or rubber bands?

I even do a quick tutorial on my figure 8 staff spins!

Enjoy and may the force be with you!

That's one of the ways to do it! Instead of flyers, business cards, website... just get out there in the public eye and fly your geek flag. Keep it up and you may start your own club from all the interested people! Cheesy

I have AA-powered and AAA-powered Ultrasabers (nothing like the newer Trustfire-powered ones) so I use electrical tape often enough. PITA to replace and gets a little warm, but very secure. I've tried rubber bands but they don't hold up as well as tape and often either break or are too thick for the battery pack to get back in its natural spot.

Also, place some filler material inside (like bubble wrap or something) so that there's padding, so the battery pack doesn't rattle itself to death.

Wrapping a piece of velcro around the batteries works great. It not only keeps them in place but it pads the whole pack and keeps it from banging around in the hilt. really awesome video. I just got a staff and really like it. I'm getting better with it and tonight I'll try adding that extra spin Cheesy

I like the electrical tape idea! Thanks for the replies and I look forward to posting more vids on here.

I use wadded up paper towels to pad my sabers. I've got a piece that I put in between the led and the switch, between the pack and the switch, around the batteries before the Velcro for side padding, and one after the pack near the pommel side. I've made it so that no matter how hard I spin or smack the saber there is absolutely no rattling! I'm pretty certain they won't get hot enough to cause any damage so I'm happy with it.

I'm thinking of doing some spin tutorials after you mentioned wanting to try my spin. I'm not a master by any means, but if I can help any saber enthusiasts learn new spins, I'm all for it!

I don't have a sparring partner so most of my play is for show. But individual spins are great for practicing and playing when you're by yourself.

I just uploaded a new trailer under mdanz89 feel free to check it out for some laughs!

I bring my sabers to the beach with me every time i go for a fire in the evening, great time to show off and lots of open area to duel my friends. I have people come up to me every time asking to play with them once the are finished spinning them around they hamd it back and say wow where did you get such a great quality lightsaber, and i proudly say ultrasabers! It doesn't matter who you are and what you do there will always be somthing awesome about lightsabers,

No problem! Reminder that if you're actively looking for a sparring partner you can get yourself listed here on the map:
