First Sith Costume completed

Took a little while to get together and it's still a work in progress but I managedto get a Sith costume done in time for my Anime Club's halloween party and to wear around for the actual holiday.    It's a Black Gi worn over a firm fitting black, zip up hoodie (so I could get the signature sith hood), with a couple of belts around my midsection to keep the hoodie tight on me.

All in all I got a lot of compliments on the costume and especially the saber.  Numerous people were asking where I had gotten and how much it had cost so Ultra you may be getting a few orders to be shipped to UW Whitewater soon 

Anyhow here's some pictures from the party, please tell me what you guys think and any siggestions you might recomend.  New boots are definitely a priority, a cloack would be nice and some armor made from that foam (the term for it escapes me) would be perfect I think.

Seriously, try to invest in some contacts, preferably yellow, but plain old corrective will do. The glasses ruin your entire image.

Rina - wolf may have an issue with contacts.  Not everyone CAN wear them.  It's why I went with colored lenses on a glasses frame for my costume.

Nah the glasses are fine.  The whole costume is great, actually.  Love the saber too! (edit: thats an Aeon v3. my bad)  I've just never seen a Sith that smiled.  At least, not a happy smile.  But if you could pull off a bat-shell crazy smile like Palpatine has in ROTJ you'd have the costume effin perfect.

I have a stigmatism so yeah unfortunately contacts are kinda hard for me.

And thank you for the compliment Oramac, t the next party I head to I'll be sure to get some evil smile pics in.  And I'll take the glasses off for a bit because, I agree, at a con I'd be sure to take off the glasses when I would be asked for a photo.  I may have *****y eyesight but I can still see well enough to get around.

Can you wear tinted lenses on frames?  I know of a website through which I ordered my tinted costume glasses - if you have your vision prescription info, they can make lenses and ship the frames to you for a lot cheaper than you pay in store.  If you're interested, PM me.

Also does anyone know where you could find a cloak for cheap?  I don't know anyone who owns a sewing machine so simplicity designs are out and twin roses is way too expensive.

I got a full Jedi outfit for about $180 AUD (everything but the boots). All good quality and tailored to size. It came from Hong Kong and took about 2 weeks. Unfortunately, I can't remember the exact name of the shop but I found it on eBay.

I'd suggest combing eBay. It shouldn't take more than 10 mins and you'll find a few good places from there. Most of it's kids stuff but there's quite a bit of 'serious' cosplay outfits that are great quality as well.

The cloak is such an easy job that you don't even need a sewing machine. You can stitch it by hand. You only have to sew the cape and the hood together, one seam at the hood and overseam everything.

eBay is going to be your best bet, then.  However, like most things, you get what you pay for.

nice costume, i wouldnt wear those crappy contacts if you paid me their look great, until they flip or scratch they eye. not worth it, im sure the really expensive ones are great but the sub £100 ones are dangerous.
