I don't recognize that first one. Who does it belong to?
EDIT: I'm assuming it is one of the Nazgul's since the pommel is the same of both of them, but I don't actually know.

Well, there are actually much worse things out there, but if that made you uncomfortable then I'll neither post nor even describe them. Sorry for that  Thanks Viv so much for your sensitivity. I looked at it again today and it wasn't so bad... just the whole black picture thing. Hard to explain. Haha ... some of us haven't watched the extended versions as many times as others Given that I haven't watched any of the extended versions, only most of Fellowship, about half of Two Towers, and none of Return, that's not an acceptable excuse.  I know I've stated it elsewhere, but I HATE the movies. Back on topic:    |

I only have three swords at the moment (pictures later today), but I think I want one of these next (no, that's actually not a Katana): I was going to ask if its edge is on the inside of the curve, but the image URL already answered that. Kind of like a falx with a shallower curve. |

Yes it is on the inside. It's a sakobato, and while it was popularized in Rurouni Kenshin, there have been a few actually found in Japan. That's what I was thinking, but I never paid attention to his sword, I was always to busy watching Aragorn kick their butts.
And yet another reason the movies are wrong. Or did you mean in Fellowship where Arongorn was waving a torch around and letting Frodo get stabbed? Or when they were running for their lives and only barely got saved by a river flooding? Or maybe in Return when he could do absolutely nothing and had to let Eowin and Merry deal with him? Anyway, back to some promised pictures from my collection: First up, two of the three of these we have in the household:   Next, one I forgot my wife has:  Finally, just a pair of boot knives I have:  I took a couple of sword pictures, but I'm not happy with them, and it's only one of them, so swords are probably going to have to wait until tomorrow. |

Hey! I recognized both instantly. Yes, Aragorn didn't even have a sword in Fellowship (book), and the River didn't flood (like that), and he wasn't even there fighting the Witch King, so it doesn't matter.
Not entirely true. He gets Anduril in Rivendell. And it's just a regular sized one-handed sword. |
