Oh man. KoTOR. I remember my original play through on the Xbox, and saving up my allowance to buy KoTOR 2 lol. Good times. I've played through both of these games multiple times, as recently as this year.

They're not for everyone, and that's okay. I personally get super bored with mostly combat games. I hate grinding for experience, and I hate getting killed every ten minutes. I really like games that have a story line (Mass Effect, KoTOR, etc etc). So if you know you're a die hard action/FPS type, KoTOR may just not be your thing.

Taris does suck. I've definitely stopped a game out of annoyance that I couldn't skip Taris, and I believe I got stuck there on my first playthrough and almost never completed the game. In the same spot, actually. Trying to get into the undercity for the serum mission.

KoTOR and KoTOR 2 kind of set the bar for me in terms of what a good RPG could do, and that's why I keep coming back.

I found Taris more fun on my female playthrough, just because you can already start teasing Carth at that point. You spend most of Taris trying to rescue Bastila, so not much opportunity for teasing/romancing as a dude. If you really get into the RP aspect, Taris has a lot to offer. Planet I personally like the least is actually Tattooine. I feel that (other than the swoop racing) it finishes way too fast (discluding the extra companion missions for Canderous and Mission, since Bastila’s goes along with the main quest anyway, and discluding the box).

I will say though.... open the box. No other context to this statement. You will know which box I am talking about when the time comes. Just.... do yourself a favor and open the box.

I usually play through female first, so I do know what you mean. Me finding Taris tedious now, in fairness, is not a good indication of how I felt 10+ years ago on my first playthrough. I do remember having to restart the whole game because I somehow ended up stuck in the elevator down to the lower city, which probably forever soured me to Taris lol.

Ooof..... yeah, that’ll do it for you. I had something similar happen to me in the Kinrath cave in Dantooine in my current mobile play through (I think I got it on film too!!!). I ended up somehow running up a stilagmite and getting stuck in the ceiling. Luckily I could switch to a companion character and “Gwen” came back down lol

Taris isn't bad. I really don't like Manan, mostly because the Selkath speech drives me nuts. I don't know what it is about it, but it just irritates me. Plus, they annoy me as a species with their so-called neutrality.

Funny, but not at all like Manan. (and, yes, I've seen that episode) I don't want to give too much away, but for a neutral planet there's a marked lack of neutrality.

Ewwww nah, Manaan had too much politics. Screw Manan. I think Korriban was probably the most fun, actually XD Go figure...

I've changed my mind. Kashyyyk is awful for making you have to be in the Czerka outpost whenever you want to change party members XD Going all the way back up from the shadow lands now to grab Bastila so she can be in my party for the star map. Damned research >.< Kashyyyk is an important map too since you actually have to interact with it like Dantooine... Korriban is still Best planet. And Dustil is there. Yay Dulstil. Carth is happy now!

Yeah, Kashyyyk will steal your soul with its lack of quick travel. Still, the Shadowlands are a lot of fun.

I think my favorite planet is probably Dantooine. Good times to be had on Dantooine. (it sucks in the sequel, though)

Dantooine is pretty fun too.... but you get the Box in Korriban. Dantooine has nothing on the box. just call me Pandora

It’s a crazy party though.... and they’re just doing their job. They’re not happy about the quarantine either
