We should have a "Mirror Match" event, like in Mortal Kombat. Each team will have to face off against clones of themselves in epic tag-team matches Grin I don't know, just a thought.

My question with mirror matches is: would the mirror version think exactly as you do, or completely backwards? Would it be like your own version of Bizarro?

It would be like in MK 1. The mirror version will think exactly as you do and will attempt to match you move for move.

I'm good with the keyblade stats. I'd almost say stick a few more on melee, but it's mostly special abilities, so yeah. Good.

I like my odds, mainly because of this part:

Each fighter in the arena will be given generic steel armor. Also, each weapon has been balanced before hand, power level wise. You won't be going in with the physical stats of those who wielded these weapons in their respective video games, you will instead go in with your physical stats in real life. Same goes for attitude, personality, etc.

Everyone taking these mythological and magical weapons is still themselves.  I.E. neither mythological nor magical.  How many of us can honestly pull off Kratos's moves?  Or really know how to handle a magic sword like Link?  But in HALO your average grunt used the Battle Rifle all the time.  Plus, the rifle has a significantly longer range than about half the other weapons, and we're in a cityscape.  Plenty of places to hide and play sniper.

Sora didn't know how to use the keyblade when he got it, but he learned. Same with these weapons. Kratos wasn't originally supernatural, it was just the blades that made him special, yeah?

When I was teaching squad tactics in the USMC we had a humbling exercise that brings your above thought to ground I think:)

We would put a single bowling pin at 40', hand the Marine a full clip, and instruct them to fire on full auto with M-16 (later on with burst).

Out of 30 Marines fully trained with the weapon, all qualified marksmen (many expert shots), with full clips...how many hit the bowling pin consistently?

None.

We went to the long range, 700yrds, and got to shoot the 50cal sniper rifle...three shots in three minutes...from the kneeling position you take the prone, sight your target, load, fire...load fire...load fire.

Out of 30 well trained Marine shooters, how many hit the man size torso target all three times?

None.

Though all hit at least once...but it was a sweet weapon and everyone could shoot very well.

So an average guy handed a high tech weapon from "the future", there is a fair chance they may not even be able to engage the safety much less shoot it much less even, snipe with it.

But this is just a fun little game...so we should assume the gun is point and shoot, the sword is magic regardless of activation, and so forth.

Could an average Joe use the God Killer weapons like the God Killer?

No.

He could not do 60' back flips, lift part of a mountain, etc.  but certainly the God Killer weapons would do horrific damage if they hit...swing for the fences hero!

I understand your point, and respect its relevance for sure, but if your target is a bowling pin (or similar size) why would anyone go full-auto on it in the first place?

Besides, the other part of my quote was the "all weapons have been normalized for power".  So if you raise the power/accuracy/whatever of the Battle Rifle to meet the power of the other weapons, I could possibly make those shots.  Conversely, if you lower the other weapons power to meet the Battle Rifle, they pose far less of a threat than before.

But as you said, it's a game.  Game on!

It will!!  (At 3 yards)   Wink

So the point is to prove that full-auto is not always a good idea then?  lol.  I like it.

A) Keyblade - ChaosMidge
E) Portal Gun - Jedi Relmeob

G) Scorpion's spear - Darth Nekesus
B) Whip-sword - TheHobbitofDune

C) Battle rifle - Oramac
F) Lancer - Luna

D + H...killed a licker and are waiting in a safe zone
A + E...next
G + B
C + F

A + E...random check...this team can run into G + B, C + F, or a licker (of 12)...C + F

A + E  vs  C + F

Since this is a couple people rather than lickers...let us try a couple narratives...of initial reactions from those directly involved   Smiley

I'm optimistic.  The portal gun can't make portals on some key surfaces (like windows) and requires line of sight.  Though, so do our weapons.

The keyblade is another story though.  It sounds like more of a "god-mode" weapon, though since all weapons are normalized for power, I'm thinking we have a chance.

Overall, I think it'll come down to tactics and working together.

In this setting the Keyblade is a magical item that can be used as a minimal melee weapon and a ranged/touch empathy activator.

Meaning that if the Keyblade beam hits you and you had intended on killing/harming anyone then you would not want to do so anymore...a feeling of happiness, harmony, and well being would fill your cockles with kittens and puppies.

It would be my first consideration to engage the portal upon seeing the other team...somewhere in the opposite direction, away from their current view...and then the gate next to us.

 Grin

Better to portal away and to portal again another day!
