New Saber: Ultrasabers Flamberge

Hi Darth Logos.  Are you talking about the Flamberge or another saber and where did you get the info from.  My understanding is that it will be late winter or spring of this year which would be February - June 2015.  Why would anyone want to pay all that money for something that won't be received for at least half a year?  Please clarify.

1) I speced a Flamberge and added it to my cart and then applied the coupon code, and it took. Typically if a coupon cannot be applied the check-out will not accept it. Or if it doesn't apply, it would return a $0.00 discount. I.E.: I just ordered an Archon w/ sound and an extra MLS unit. The Archon had 15% taken off, but I paid full price for the MLS.

2) I might be mistaken on the release, but I was under the impression that there was a typo on the initial posting of this thread. If I'm wrong, all the better. We'll get 'em faster than I thought.

For a fanatical collector, overpaying and waiting isn't the judgement in pre-ordering. It's the guarentee that they won't have to wait for a potential backorder when they are released that is important. Haven't you ever wondered why some movies offer reserved copies before release, even there's hardly ever a shortage of units? I'm pre-ordering just for the added savings. If there were no difference in price, I'd be holding off.

Thanks for the quick reply.  Until I know for sure the correct time frame of the build and send time, I am going to hold off and look at other sabers that are on my wish list.  There will always be more sales but the free crossguard blades was a nice incentive to buy now.  Hope you get yours earlier than later and the forum will eagerly await the photos, videos and reviews of other member's Flamberge.

You actually got me thinking on that release date. Because by technicality, winter will be ending shortly, in 2015. What confused me about the dates is whether the "Winter" is named for the year in which it begins or the year in which it ends. The double '2015' is now making me think that we should have crossguards before June '15. Deep would be able to answer that best.

I had to wait about 8 months from the time I discovered US till the time I could actually afford to buy my first saber. Good things are always worth waiting for. AND NOW I HAVE 5.

Deep, I assume disconnects are not possible for the crossguard blades?

Anything is possible, it's just not a service that we can offer.  It's a very tight fit and we wouldn't want to install these and have customers messing up their saber trying to utilize them.  So yes they are possible, but due to the lack or room this wouldn't be something that we'd do here at Ultrasaber prior to shipping the saber.

I love the look of the new saber, but I'm a bit concerned about the placement of the power button.  It seems like it would be right where you would put your fingers/thumbs, especially using it two handed, which most longswords with a grip that long have to use.  Would it be possible to post some photos/video of someone holding it two handed and one handed?  Thanks!

I sympathize with that mentality. I use to assemble electrical control panels and boxes; wires don't always like being stuff into cramped spaces. Thanks for the insight. I'm sure I'll be more than pleased with the CE version in good old Blazing Red

In the video on page 1 at about 6 minutes Emory is holding the saber . Looks like you have just enough room for 1 hand above the button without pressing it.

Am I right that the pre order deadline is the 25th? I have a question, I see people replying to a certain post and the post they're replying to appears in a gray box above they're post. How do you reply like that?
