It's from Six Days, Seven Nights, and it's a misquote. The actual quote is "That's a commercial airliner! It's 5 miles high going six hundred miles an hour. They wouldn't see a nuclear explosion if they were looking for it, much less a flare!"

Gimme a break, it's been a looooooooonnnnnnggg time since I've seen it, but the gist was there. Now, my entry:
