It was the closest thing to real metal and i really liked the look of it this way. Good luck on your own saber buddy.

Does anyone have a good idea on how to make a small crystall chamber with light up crystal? i am running out of ideas and it needs to be reaaaally small to fit in my chassis. Any help would be gladly appreciated.

It may look kinda cheesy but you could always use a small christmas light for the crystal! lol. I'm sure it can be wired in somehow....

If you have a Michael's around, I know they have all kinds of arts and crafts type stuff. ie.. plastic crystal like stuff. And any small type of LED could light it. Like maybe if you have an extra accent led from another saber? Hope it works out.

i usually use a cut up piece of hot glue stick. it really gives of a nice glow when lighted from beneath. Now all i need to find out is how to wire it all up.

I feel it the same way Wasd999.
No such thing as beautiful as igniting the blue blade with ignition noises from your first scratchbuild saber. Really sounds like music when it works out.

its over everyone. The Starkiller died.
I was rehearsing some choreography with my buddy earlier this week and i used the starkiller instead of my SI.
The saber snapped in 2 at the center of the hilt after he struck me with a jump swing.

here is the damage done



I tried to salvage what i could: speaker, battery pack, soundcard (partially), and some random bits and stuff.
The led was destroyed together with the swing sensor and the entire hilt.

I've never felt so struck down by anything this saber was the pinnacle of what i could do at the moment.
Car needs repairs so i can't really afford anything now so it will take time before i can even attempt to build something new.
Sometimes life just sucks.
anyway thanks for the comments everyone it meant a lot to me.

That bites, Dude! Don't get too down though, I mean eventually you'll have the money, and then you can rebuild it! Better... faster... stro- Woops, wrong show! XD Nothing better in a time of sorrow than a little humor to lift the spirits, eh? But seriously, I'm sure in the future you'll be able to rebuild it. Though perhaps if you intend to fight with it, some kind of reinforced hilt would be in order....

As Vader would say - "  NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO"   DUDE  !  that really is a bummer.  Your saber was the reason I wanted to build my TFU II !  Anyway I'm truly sorry bro. At least when you do get the funds, youll be able to make it better on the next go !  And trust me you will  : )  Good Luck friend !
